The canyons of Downtown Oklahoma City were fairly peaceful today. I carried my sign back and forth between roughly E.K. Gaylord Avenue and Walker Avenue, incrementing one block north each time between Reno and 3rd Street. It took roughly two hours starting from the convenience store at Lincoln and Reno, scooping in the few blocks of Bricktown.
There was a lot more pedestrian traffic there, but little visible response. One fellow stopped me to shake my hand and jabber a bit about his faith. It was refreshing, but I’m afraid I may have seemed too much in a hurry to him. Still, I enjoyed seeing some of the revitalization projects.
I’m going to start spending more time riding my bike with the lettered t-shirts, so I can cover more ground with the message. Perhaps I can start thinking about handing out pamphlets more visibly. I’m hoping I can avoid having people take them only to toss them to the wind. Littering is really annoying to me. I’ll need to pray and think about this some.
What does your sign say?
In a previous post I described it. On the one side, in red letters: “REPENT, AMERICA” — on the other side in black letters: “GOD’S WRATH IS UPON US!”
