What do you call it when lying to excuse evil becomes the routine?
If a government representatives tells the truth, it’s only to cover up an even bigger lie. In other words, government is reflexively dishonest. That’s the default policy. Sure, I would bet I could go down to the county courthouse and find a few people trying to be honest, but not only are they remarkable rarities, their truth is buried by the lies in the system. The people involved have come so very far away from the reality of those they govern, it’s as if they are from a different planet. That’s the nature of government in America today. The alienation is stunning, dumbfounding, leaving one speechless. Sure, we could try to hold people accountable, but that won’t change the system until there are so many dead bodies there’s nothing left to govern.
The calcification of this system is hard to picture, impossible to describe. Before I do, you need to understand how to take my word with a grain of salt. I’m not upper class by any means, nor in sympathy with them. They are so uniformly psychopathic because that’s the only way you can be a part of the upper class. I’m not middle class, despite having been able to hold a middle class income and material possessions at times in my life. Nor am I the lower class type who is drawn to socialism or communism, and I’m not a Gen-X anarchist, either. If you need to put me in a convenient pigeon hole, the closest one would be the peasant lower class, the poor white trash out in the country who are inherently libertarian. Somehow I got a good education, so I really don’t fit there totally, but it’s where my gut reactions can be found. Any system at all is my enemy, because all of the other social groups want to use and abuse me for their own purposes. But I’m not interested in hurting anyone else. I just want to be left alone, so I stand on good moral grounds for directing hostile attention to something broken in my world.
I don’t sympathize with this writer, and I particularly don’t support the demand for free rides on the transportation system, but I certainly understand the hostility. Having been a cop myself, I still hate most police and their organizations today. I have no reason to believe the linked report is embellished much, and am totally unsurprised you can’t find even an opposing viewpoint reported anywhere. The gap between government and mainstream media is filled with money, so when one moves, the other follows. If government lies so much it is itself a big lie, why should we think the MSM is any different? We stand back and view such rioting with detachment because, while we don’t want any part of such rioting which hurts us, too, we sure don’t support government sponsored wanton murder.
I’ll give you one major clue to why I consider all law enforcement evil today. It’s based on moral principles at a cosmic level, from God Himself. It won’t matter how you theorize with your fallen human logic, God has revealed in His Word that He can be persuaded to change course on things. At the most fundamental level, if you come in humble repentance, He will pull you off the Hell-bound track and reconsider your case. At times in human history, the Bible indicates He was willing to negotiate and reconsider, actually meeting folks halfway, as it were. It’s called “mercy.” He promised lots of that. When any human on earth refuses to consider mercy, when they make rules for themselves which forbid reconsidering their actions, they stick their finger in God’s eye. When a cop sees what looks like a criminal act, and then discovers upon closer inspection it’s no longer reasonable to think so, they should back down. They should say, “Oh, sorry to bother you; just checking.” Then they need to get back on the job and keep an eye out for trouble they can prevent or help resolve.
Something at the very heart of the police mission, the reason we have taxes to pay them and buy all that stuff they use, is to make things a little safer and inhibit predators. When the biggest predator of all is the local police department, why do they still get to be the police? What ever happened to accountability? When they restrict who gets to talk to them so that they only hear from folks who mindlessly support their depredations, their protected clientèle, it does not excuse their lack of accountability to everyone else. But of course, once this situation exists, there is no going back; there is no reform possible. It becomes an armed camp of occupation, a closed system which exists merely to suck the life blood from the community which actually exists.
Ever year, there is fresh evidence police agencies and the governments they protect are increasingly more like this, and more of them. It’s spreading everywhere as the new normal, the standard model others are expected to follow. So we have unspeakably lawless behavior, sometimes leaking out into the news (invariably with all sorts of justifications), more often leaking out via alternative news sources, but often simply going unreported altogether. That’s because the people who would like to report it are in jail or dead, entirely because they were trying to report it. This goes on in some of the tiniest little wide spots on some unpaved back road out in the country. So when you see a riot in the big city being hidden from the news, you have to think we are seeing some rough justice.
Then government mouthpieces have to gall to say, “This is not the best way to complain.” As if they were ever interested in complaints in the first place! When words fail to restrain evil, it begs for even greater evil in response. When you flout God’s morals to pursue evil, He grants you all the evil you desire, and a lot more besides. It’s called “wrath” and it comes because you have chosen to run with the Devil.
