Profits of Sin

The CEO of Bank of America says, regarding the new fees he’s charging debit card users, that his bank has the right to make a profit. So far, so good, but he’s trying to ignore one little problem:

[P]eople aren’t protesting Wall Street because of 9% unemployment and slow growth, they’re protesting because they know Wall Street gambled big, lost heavily, and then robbed them and went back into the casino.

This includes BoA. They have played at the casino and lost big. They have participated in the robbery of the taxpayers. They now demand even more via their own customers. What the CEO means is he is demanding the right to a huge bonus pay-out for himself and his lieutenants regardless of how poorly they have performed with their customers’ money.
