Your historical narrative cannot be objective. The mere claim of objectivity itself is a bias. I make no bones about it: When I read and analyze records of past events, I view it through the lens of ancient Hebrew Mysticism. I call it the prophetic viewpoint. That is, I apply the moral judgments I understand from Jesus Christ, as understood by His native Hebrew intellectual background. Oddly, this causes me to sound somewhat objective in regards to American History, because not one of the partisan narrative agendas can tolerate my analysis.
Most of us are aware the two dominant influences in what can be called “American culture” are Puritans and disenfranchised nobility. The Puritans were a fairly materialistic Protestant group deeply affected by middle class assumptions. In essence, what made them unique was the belief God intended them to prosper, and if that didn’t happen, then the social and political context must be evil. This didn’t go over well with the British government, so they fled to the Netherlands. The Dutch militantly demanded Puritan children attend the very secularized Dutch schools, and the Puritans were left fleeing to a new continent across the Atlantic. They had insufficient means to fund this trip fully, so they got a loan from some speculators who demanded they obey certain rules and send back some of the food they grew and certain materials from natural resources.
At the same time there was a large class of nobles who were at loose ends because of peculiar Anglo-Saxon and Norman traditions about inheritance of property. These nobles were all second sons or later, and had only their education and connections. They often had some wealth, and dabbled in speculations such as the Puritan colony. Some of them put their own hands to colonizing, typically farther south along the same Atlantic Seaboard on the same continent. There was a lot of colonizing and speculation, and the patrician lifestyle flavored things. This, of course, set the stage for our War Between the States, but in the end, these two cultures merged, picking up some flavoring from other colonizing groups from other nations, etc.
What we now consider our national founding was a series of events in which Americans revolted against the British government and managed to finagle legally recognized independence. This effort was led by a combination of those Southern patricians and the New England middle class merchants of Puritan stock. If you examine the written records of the era, one thing becomes obvious. Among this mixed group of Founding Fathers were a lot of very busy activists and a much smaller group influencing and steering the whole thing. This latter group is almost invisible if you read it as it is taught in most American schools and colleges. So while the Declaration of Independence is rather doctrinally pure Enlightenment thinking, and the Articles of Confederation only slightly less so, the final US Constitution was a complete departure. The sneaky plutocrats never ceased fudging, tweaking and jostling the course of things until they produced a very slyly phrased document with holes big enough to sail ships through it. Try reading it with an eye to what was left out.
While there were setbacks along the path, these plutocrats kept it up the whole way through. We’ve never been without them. It does no good to pick at the details of who did what and why. On the one hand, we know there has always been a ruling class and they have always acted the same in certain key patterns which kept this same bunch in power. On the other hand, we see the results of two and a half centuries of steering. It ends in the same sort of tyranny we claimed we were fighting, as if that were our national identity.
Lots of little subroutines along the way are so very instructive. In my previous post I linked to a book by Catherine Austin Fitts. It’s well worth the read, especially since it’s free and online. A significant element in the story was the birth of the Drug War-Private Prison Industry. She shows how her community investment management software was hijacked and used to design the current insufferable mess. Try to understand: Someone in our government had planned long ago to make the US a world leader in incarceration, both in raw numbers and per capita. Further, I could probably dig up the documents which explain a critical element was creating a vast criminal class where almost none had been. Gang wars? The plutocrats are so proud of that accomplishment. It was purely intentional.
The same could be said of creating a vast group of mentally unstable trained killers: veterans with PTSD. Did if ever occur to you how utterly unusual it is they are fighting tooth and nail to prevent giving these guys any treatment? How about an earlier federal policy which suddenly turned loose people who had been “mentally ill” and institutionalized for much of their lives? A safe and stable society is the last thing they want to see. Yet the same plutocrats sold that vision to the middle class merchants way back during the American Revolution.
Do you have any idea where American civilian law enforcement came from? It’s not hard to document. These prissy materialistic merchants utterly despised the peasants and blue collar workers who often came from some other ethnic background and loved to celebrate life in a less puritanical fashion. Go back and look at what the first bunch of civilian policemen enforced: mere cultural oppression. It had nothing to do with stopping basic anti-social crime, but labeling as crimes whatever it was the lower class normally did. Would it surprise you to notice as you follow the history of enforcement, even when it became a real profession with genuine standards of conduct, etc., most of their work was oppressing those who refused to act middle class and somewhat Puritan?
Now go back and look at who actually makes the current “crime wave” possible. It’s the same plutocrats, playing all the other groups against each other. So while the modern version of social Puritans compel Congress to create the DEA and other alphabet agencies for war-on-whatever, the plutocrats working through the likes of the CIA are smuggling the dope past the Border Patrol and selling it to the criminal gangs. Or go and look at all those well endowed foundations which fund various causes, and you’ll see the same bunch of people writing the checks to every different political agenda you can imagine. They keep us distracted and divided by waving a hundred false and inconsequential threats.
From Day One, America has been one long scam played on everyone. I’m seeing what looks like one more wave of terrorizing us so we panic and scream for something stronger. That something would be a tyranny worse than all the dystopian fiction you’ve read or watched in video. Maybe our Founding Fathers didn’t have quite that fully developed vision, but the net result of all their manipulation and maneuvering is taking us there because it serves their wicked self interest.
It’s too late to turn things back, and there was no point back there we should want to go, because it was all one big lie. It’s coming and there’s no one on earth, not even all of us together, can stop it. From my biased prophetic point of view, I warn you not to be suckered into fighting directly on their terms. The real battle is inside you, and the only victory worth anything is there, too.
