This past two weeks, despite what I intended, the computer ministry has returned in force. That is, I’ve been accepting donated equipment, and working to fix computer issues for folks. Someone gave me a really nice Optiplex 780 needing only a hard drive replacement. While the machine was still under warranty, in fact, there was no way I could get the code from some major corporation from whence it came to claim the warranty repair. So I just found another drive of the same type and all is well enough.
If you are of the sort to pray, I’m needing a monitor to go with it. I’m currently using a TV, and that’s not very optimal, and somewhat difficult for my eyes after just a little while.
Meanwhile, it didn’t seem right to say “no” when folks asked for my help. Some of this hardware is junk, but I did get a couple of decent boxes I might be able to resurrect and give away. I love giving stuff away. CentOK-CM (Central Oklahoma Computer Ministry) is back in action.
Update: The monitor has been obtained and installed, working beautifully. We were checking around for best-bang-for-the-buck type of deals, and I’m pleased with the results.
