Not so Simple

One of the hardest things you’ll do is keep a running awareness of multiple levels.

It’s not enough to be aware of the Two Realms. That’s merely an intellectual proposition. You need a broader capability to act. Once you grasp that your mind and spirit are separate faculties, you still have to learn about how your heart works as a third faculty between them. It is the interface between mind and spirit, as it were. We are trans-dimensional, multi-level creatures.

Your body is alive; there is a level of self-awareness that is simply hard wired into us. If your spirit comes to life through the miracle of grace, you still have to develop the connection between your mind and your spirit. The nexus between the Spirit Realm and the Fallen Realm is the revelation of God, the moral fabric of the universe. Morality is how you connect to Heaven from earth. Heaven clarifies, illuminates, inspires and empowers moral living in this world.

So your heart is the nexus of moral understanding. Proving that the heart has its own energy field and sensory capabilities does not answer the question; you have to awaken your mind’s link to that faculty. The prerequisite is that your intellect comes on its knees. Your mind is not the master, but the servant. It is capable of reading sensory data, processing it logically against previously stored data, while still receiving the moral structuring from the heart. You can do this, but it does require throwing off the conditioning of our world.

This business of my seeming hostility to Western Civilization arises from its hostility to the truth. You pretty much have to step outside of it see reality as God wants you to see it. This is why we spend time in worship, prayer and contemplation — we want to still the mind so the heart can speak. Your heart calls to your mind from a place outside the boundaries of what Western mythology will permit. Yep, this is called “mysticism” for a reason. Your mind is dragged into a higher reality where it’s not in charge because it has no competence. Your mind rebels just as the rest of your flesh does.

But your whole world rebels, too. Our social context in the West is often openly hostile and dismissive of this; “mysticism” is a dirty word. How you respond to that varies with the context, guided by the needs of the Spirit Realm and revelation. It’s guided by the imperative of glorifying God. Your heart will know the right thing to do in the context that makes God happy. You don’t have to cut yourself off from awareness of how the rest of the world views all of this, but you also don’t have to live by that constraining limitation.

Even when we know how things will be read by that lower reckoning of the fleshly mind, we are called to operate with a divine efficiency, something that measures on an entirely different scale.

We are not fools; we are aware the world is coming apart. The current system of human government has reached the limits of its capabilities and run out of room to operate. We see the desperate clawing of humans to retain something of their comfort zones and it’s not working. This is not for us a time of terror because we are not confined to the capabilities of our flesh. Rather, we see this is a rich field of opportunities to exploit human terror for God’s glory.

Keep all three of your eyes open: the mind of the flesh, the moral reckoning of the heart, and illumination of the spirit.
