Just a short one this time: No human legal system is equivalent to morality. It is never more than a pitiful compromise between competing demands. Companies like Yes Communities will use the laws as an excuse for some of the most egregious moral abuse. They hide behind the law to avoid having to stop and think about ways to actually make life better for the people they sock with high rents. I would greatly prefer to talk about how wonderful some folks are, using their prerogatives under the laws to bless people who have their genuine unique needs.
You cannot quantify “quality of life” issues for your personal convenience and profit. When you have the hand of power, your moral duty to our Creator is to seek ways to spread joy, not misery. The folks who run Yes Communities have shown a delight in shitting on their customers.
