This offer is withdrawn. I managed to get Win10 on it and the system now serves me well. The original post is below the line…

This is your chance to trade up. I’m quite sure someone out there could really use my XPS 13 with Linux, but it’s just too small for my aging eyes. I would like to trade it for something with a little more screen space. I am willing to take a loss in terms of value, but not in terms of power. I still need a solid quad-core (I don’t care if it’s Intel or AMD), but I’m not so excited about the ultra-fast SSD mine has. Let me suggest a good trade would be something like a high-end Inspiron of recent vintage, or a solid Latitude that isn’t too old. I’ll consider other brands. I need a 15″ screen with some RAM and drive space.
I’m willing to do some custom setup work on the XPS for you, like making sure suspend and hibernate work with Ubuntu 18.04. I don’t care about the OS your exchange laptop might have, because I need to run Ubuntu myself.
I also do a lot of writing and editing on the computer, and I have a suggestion. A 32″ monitor can be set at a high resolution so that you can have two windows open, side by side, and read them both very clearly. That’s what I’ve been using for the last 6 years, and now I won’t go back to anything smaller. I also use reading glasses with a blue light filter coating to make it easier on my eyes.
Thanks, Jack, but the issue is portability. I do have a 24″ monitor attached to an old desktop tower and it’s plenty for the work that requires a big display (mostly photo processing). But I need something I can carry on short notice as my “home office.”
