Equipment Update

Just so you’ll know, because some of you care…

Someone has come forward with a donation for a replacement recliner chair. I’ve called the chosen vendor (Mathis Brothers — they have a long history in this city) and I’ve contacted someone with my request. I haven’t heard back, but that is a busy store.

The bike has been taken back the vendor. A store manager was there to help Veloyce get it out of the car and he did a quick check. Once he was aware of the nature of the collision, he suggested that they would probably aggressively replace stuff on the grounds of safety alone. The manager is a cyclist, too. So we should have an estimate in a day or so and OKC has responded to my email.

I wrote to tell them I would be filing a claim. At the scene, I fussed at a Parks and Rec manager for not having rear-view mirrors on their Bobcat and that’s an OSHA violation by itself. I noted my background in Military Police Traffic Accident Investigations, but that I had no interest in socking the city and taking heads (I’m a client of their services, not an enemy). I lobbied them to go easy on the Bobcat operator because he was kind to me in the aftermath. He makes the City look good.

So they are sending me claim forms pronto and I am confident things will go well in that department. Thank you all for praying and I love you.
