This is an FYI to warn you that some of the “likes” that appear at the bottom of my posts are from spammers. These are folks with WordPress sites that engage in predatory advertising. They click my “like” button to gain more links to their site and fool search engines into thinking their sites are popular. Once or twice I’ve checked such sites and had them attempt to seize control of my browser. I can tell you that WordPress doesn’t listen to complaints about them.
If you hover your mouse over the likes, you’ll see a name reflected. Avoid “MoonPixlarPW” and “HealthNewsPW” for example.

Good one Jay.
Something similar happens with “followers”, which is why I don’t have that widget (gadget?) for my blogs any more. Several people I know – both on WordPress and Blogger – found themselves with dozens “signing up” over the course of days and once you start checking, it’s creepy to find that very few, if any of them are real. I don’t know what there is for these fake followers to gain, mind you.
