This blog is a ministry outlet. I didn’t start this nearly ten years ago as a social outlet. Social connections do happen here, but that’s just a side effect of the medium. The essential purpose of this blog is a virtual ministry office.
Over the past decade, it has provided the means to discuss with the world at large my impressions about what ministry should be. This was the testing ground as I felt my way along a path that had long been neglected, ruins in the dirt, overgrown like a jungle. I’m not going to tell you that I have arrived, but this stage of things has about run its course.
As I noted in conversation at the forum, there are a lot of changes coming to the Internet. What we once knew as the wide open source of information exchange is going to come under increasing regulation and censorship. That’s because the Internet is run by lefties who can no longer tolerate right-wing chatter. I’m not expecting to suffer from that censorship, in the sense of this blog being shut down. What I am expecting is that God has plans for me to engage activities offline, here in meat-space.
Sometime in the near future, my habit of posting something every day will break. If your only interest here is the social connection, you need to switch over and join the forum. That’s where I’ll spend more time. I’ll keep the blog alive in the foreseeable future, but it won’t be the central outlet for my kingdom service.
For the past 20 years I dug into computers and networking because that’s where God moved me. Now He’s told me to move on to other things. For the moment, I’ll be spending a lot of time in prayer and contemplation. Some of the results of that will show up here, just nowhere near as much as in the past. I’ll be reading a lot less on the Net, as well. I’ll keep an eye on things, but it’s going to taper off.
To be honest, I think I’ve pretty well covered most of the ground that required a significant depth of exploration. I’m starting to repeat myself too much. I’ve rattled on and on about how to shift your focus to your heart and how that should affect your thinking. Maybe we’ll see more about how it should affect your actions; I’m not sure. I’ll still answer questions and you can still email, text or call me (405-503-1692 — reminder: I use a flip phone). I plan to keep the online archives open until it’s no longer possible. As long as Smashwords is open for business, I’ll leave my e-books there. All that stuff is linked on the right-hand side of the blog interface.
It’s likely I’ll still post pictures and prophecies. I may try to survey another creek or two this summer. If I can get another motor vehicle, I’ll surely tour more of Oklahoma with my camera.
But as of today, the posting will taper off in terms of frequency. I’m sure God has more important things for you to do, as well.
For sure, your posts have been and will continue to be a blessing. With all of your past posts, your archives and e-books, there is plenty for a visitor to learn from! May He who blesses abundantly bless all those who come. See you in the forum, brother!
We will pray with you on this, of course. We should maybe look at archiving some of the stuff you’ve written here at the forum as well.
We should choose carefully, but I agree with the idea.
