Fraudulent Use of My Personal Info

I’m trying to imagine why, but someone seems to have lifted my personal contact details and posted a bogus resume on several job websites, such as Monster. First, I got a bunch of notices from the websites. I’ve complained to them, and asked the accounts be removed. Second, I’ve gotten several emails offering jobs for which I am not at all qualified or interested: Electrical Engineer, banking management, sales, etc.
Let’s get one thing straight: I’d sooner become a crack whore before I would work in sales. Yes, I’ve already done sales, and I feel like beating senseless anyone who dares suggest I do it again. This, while being a complete pacifist.
As I said, I really can’t imagine what sort of prank this was supposed to be. It’s an annoyance, and perhaps a minor embarrassment, but otherwise it seems utterly senseless.
