I’m dealing with seasonal allergies. Usually it’s no big deal. I get some sinus action, maybe a scratchy throat, then it’s gone in less than a week. Today I’m on my third day and I sustained a heavy resurgence.
Bear in mind, we have southerly breezes right now, as with most of the year. As soon as I crossed into the downwind space north of Tinker AFB, it hit like a ton of bricks. I went from mild symptoms to gut-wrenching sneezes, heavy sinus flow, and my throat was quite painful. I survived this for a few hours, then went back home.
As soon as I got just a quarter-mile off that downwind pattern, the symptoms backed off. Something on Tinker AFB causes serious allergy reactions in my body, but there’s no way to avoid it. I can’t smell anything specific, but it’s a killer.
