I’ve had to do a lot of work on my own computers. I’ll spare you the gory details, but it ate up three days. Other days were eaten by intrusions of real life on behalf of others. At any rate, just today I finished 1 Corinthians from Paul’s letters. I’ll post the revisions on my static site tomorrow.
I’m still praying for a copy of WordPerfect newer than this ancient 6.1 for Windows I have right now. I use the Grammatik component to catch grammar errors I should already know not to make. Then I run it through Word because that’s what Smashwords requires. I’m using Word 97 because it’s all I can find prior to Word 2003, which I can’t stand, nor anything after it. I’m asking my readers to check the CD stashes they have or can get hold of to find MS Office 2000 or XP, and any version of WordPerfect from 8.0 and up, all in English, of course.
The free books already published keep going, at least two per week on each one. Frankly, that’s more than I expected. I still can’t get into the GMX.com account I had set up for this whole project. Their support is still unresponsive to requests. I’m going to write an article about lack of accountability to users and they’ll be featured in it as a major example, which I’ll the try to publish at Open for Business.
Peace and sanity to you all.
