I’m trying to type this from my now console-only Lenny install. I’ve already discovered there are some places on the Net, and some functions on some websites, are inaccessible completely. Anything requiring lots of Javascript to function is simply not an option any more. I certainly can’t keep using anything from Yahoo, for example. They have become increasingly hostile to geeks, and I suppose they block the blind users of plaintext software, as well.
It won’t matter to me. I’m losing interest in the Web as most people experience it. There is simply too much other stuff in my life which matters a lot more. Insofar as the original geeknet still exists, I’ll rediscover so much of it as meets my needs. Otherwise, it can roll on without me.
