Reprise: Western Political-Economic Theory

Just to ensure clarity, I’ll get a little more didactic in this post. The image is nothing more than a summary of the political and economic theories common in the West. Steal a copy of it; click on it to enlarge. You can also CTRL+click to open the image in a new browser tab. The vertical scale plots more or less personal freedom in terms of government control. The horizontal scale plots more or less economic freedom in terms of government control. Each quadrant offers typical labels of how different theories place on the scale of freedom from regulation.

This has nothing to do with the motivations for regulation, so several popular labels are lumped together under low freedom in both economic and personal choices. However, you should notice that the underlying assumption of all of this is regulating behavior (personal freedom) in favor of economic gain, with varying assumptions about what produces good economic gains.

Every one of these theoretical positions starts with rejecting the Fall. Thus, none of them work out as the theories assert. As noted yesterday, communism pretends that humans can be conditioned to remain proletarian in their thinking. It ignores how anyone elevated for the sake of organizational efficiency automatically loses any reason for proletarian thinking, and now has a vested interest in keeping their position and privileges. In other words, communist is virtually always defacto fascist to some degree. The bulk of Americans have a critical failure, a false concept of what “fascist” means, both in theory and in real terms. The differences among the lower left quadrant groups is merely the mythology of who is supposed to control and benefit from the control. Ask: What is the source of policy? Not a one of these theories allows for a mystical approach to anything.

So it should be obvious the biblical approach is not on this grid at all. Every one of them denies the dire human necessity of tribal social structure. At most, you’ll notice the lower half substitutes the state for the tribe, which is the whole point. If we encourage humans to maintain a tribal sense of identity, the state cannot exist. The secular state is inherently evil, as it stands in rejection of God’s revelation. Every word in the Bible assumes the necessity of tribal social structure in order to serve God. The whole meaning of “church” is a faith community living as a clan, as if they were all the same extended family household. This is simply not up for debate; you cannot obey Christ without that.

This is why we reject all Western governments. Not in the sense of refusing to live under their control, but in the sense we will never allow any secular state to claim they are in God’s favor. We will always reject the mythology that any Western government could be compliant with Scripture. They are all founded on rejecting revelation, never mind what rhetoric they use to contrary. Genuine Christlike politics starts with tribalism.

Totally Independent

In response to an offline query…

It would be great if there were more donations to my PayPal account. To be honest, there aren’t any real needs, so unless you simply feel moved, I’m frankly going to tell you this is not the time. This ministry has enough for now. That’s not to say I won’t find a use for the money, but that I cannot in good conscience ask for more. Frankly, the way things are going right now, I don’t want to trust PayPal with holding a large balance. I wish there was another service I could trust, but about the only thing I can suggest is you might want to consider mailing a cash card, check or money order if it matters to you.

Money is not a significant issue with most of what this ministry does. We aren’t trying to change the world, only the perception of a few folks who are already unhappy with the story they’ve been told by the mainstream. There is no pretense of shutting down Israel; I prophesy that God will do that sometime in the future. I try to explain why, that Israel is a hideous affront to the Creator’s revelation. I also don’t promote or threaten any enemies of Israel. I prophesy that some will prosper and others will not. I do so on the basis of divine revelation, by Biblical Law.

For example, I am convinced the so-called Palestinians are doomed to suffer horribly until the Lord breaks Israel. Islam is utterly false, but so is Judaism. But Islam has a few advantages by being a little closer to Biblical Law. Some Islamic governments are better at it than others. Either way, there’s nothing we can do as human observers and prophets of God’s Word. If you gave me an untraceable weapon and some kind of invisibility, I would not today engage in assassination to change the course of human politics. That’s not how it works; what God decrees, no man can change. God is who determines the course of human events. He drives like cattle those who are blind to His will, and that means this whole business of Israel and Palestine is a matter of God driving cattle for His inscrutable purposes. I don’t support democracy or the current government of the US, nor any other country, for very much the same reason: they all reject the clear Word of God.

So someone seeking to influence what I write cannot use money for leverage. I’ll take money and use it, but you’ll have to show me from divine revelation where I’m wrong on something, or where I’ve left something out. For the most part, I simply listen to my own heart and write what my convictions demand. Threats serve only to signal that I’m on target and the Devil is reacting. Digging into my past for dirt won’t change anything; feel free to jump on it. I’ll even help you, because I’m ready to confess that I’m fallen and broken. My conscience remains afflicted on some really bad choices I’ve made. If it was necessary that I present a squeaky clean image before you take my message seriously, then I don’t want you around. In order to judge another, you have to be blind to your own sins.

All I’m doing is reporting the revealed judgment of God on human sin. I’m no threat to anyone, but I have a burden to warn you when you are under God’s wrath.

In case you are wondering, we do have in place a plan to continue this ministry should some vile influence cause this blog to be shut down. If you find it blocked for any reason, check with our forum. And be aware that we would eventually move this blog to another hosting service, if necessary. Most of what’s posted here is backed up on multiple devices I own. It wouldn’t be that hard to reconstruct the core of teaching in short time. Virtually none of that work would require any more money; it’s already set up in case it’s needed. If this really matters to you, it’s not going to disappear as long as I can access the Internet.

They Will Persecute

By this definition I am an antisemite. This is part of the definition used by the US State Department. In particular, it aims to criminalize the mere suggestion that Israel should give equal rights to Jews, Muslims, Christians and even atheists within their borders, rather like it is supposed to be here in the US. Such an idea serves to “delegitimize Israel” because Israel’s government insists is is purely a Jewish state, and no other residents are genuine citizens.

It’s not that I engage any such questions here. Rather, I offer biblical reasons why Christians should not support Israel, why Zionism doesn’t answer biblical prophecy. To be honest, the bulk of evangelical eschatology is really antisemitic, because it uses Israel as a tool to bring in their imaginary End Times predictions. Thus, Jews must all return to Israel, and either become Christians or die. Yet no one is accusing American evangelicals of antisemitism, despite how Jews are used as a mere instrument of their fantasies.

You should know this blog is on a low level watchlist, if the videos are believable. I’m referring to the documentary series by al-Jazeera called The Lobby — USA. You can find the four of them (parts one, two, three, and four) on YouTube and perhaps other online services. I’ve watched the first two so far. Al-Jazeera declined to release the series, but they were leaked and posted widely. There’s a similar series for the UK, but they are a little harder to find.

In the first video of the US series, various figures describe an automated network in Israel that tracks all social media regarding things people say about Israel. So this blog post will be picked up within minutes of being posted and be marked for evaluation. Right now, the big issue is BDS and similar anti-Zionist activism. We are most emphatically not activists and I specifically discourage BDS. I believe there’s nothing to gain from participating in boycotts and such. Further, I teach that there’s no point in lobbying Congress about Israel either way. So for now, this blog rates no action because they don’t find me much of a threat. That’s what the video seems to indicate, anyway.

If you take the time to watch the series, you’ll get an image of Israel’s lobbying that indicates their efforts will escalate as time goes on. It’s not just about the money, you see. Israel is becoming increasingly sensitive to any criticism. Further, you can see the same thing in various Christian Zionist groups here in the US. I don’t know of any video documentaries that explore American Christian Zionist groups on this level, but I know from other sources that their attitude is hardening. It’s getting to the point where insufficient enthusiasm for Israel warrants persecution.

I’m not likely to see any threats from Israel itself. The people who will try to censor me will be Christian Zionists. They are feverishly working in every state to make it illegal to suggest things such as Israel should offer equal rights to all residents. They will make it illegal to use the Bible to criticize Zionism, if possible. They plan to enforce their own brand of pro-Israel orthodoxy. It is American evangelical Christians who will come after me.

The Clan of Radix Fidem

Bottom line: We are the Tribe of Christ.

Within that great and massive tribe, we are the Clan of Radix Fidem. If you elect to be a part of this clan, there are loyalties and expectations. First and foremost, you have to want it so bad you’ll die for it. Nobody is going to enforce your loyalty except the Holy Spirit. If you aren’t driven like you’re on fire, it will not work at all. I’ll help you define what that loyalty means, but it’s cooperative, not compulsive. The only reason I bear the title “elder” is because everyone else agrees to it. I can’t be your elder if you don’t want it.

That leaves you all the room in the world to use any or all parts of our teaching with a different name. Nobody is going to run a copyright check on you. We trust in the Lord to handle stuff like that. What makes us unique is outlined in this pamphlet and discussed in more detail in this booklet. But the core of who we are as a household of faith is the heart-led conviction that we have to do this, and we need to do it together. We are bound together by the affection brought to life by a common conviction.

But I’ll warn you now: It won’t work unless this becomes the root substance of your identity. If this does not overwhelm the rest of your affiliations and associations on this earth, it’s not going to work very well. Obviously none of us will attempt to interfere in your life where you are out there in meat-space. This is something that must come to life in you; this is all about fundamental identity in this world. We know it will take the rest of your life to work out the implications, but your heart has to demand it of you first. If this isn’t how Christ calls to you, then you don’t belong in this clan.

You can always associate freely with us here and on the forum. But for those who seek to walk in the revelation of Christ, you’ll know you have to adopt a tribal and clan identity, because that is fundamental to how reality works. It’s part of Creation itself and fundamental to understanding divine revelation. Creation itself is tribal-feudal; nothing in your life is going to work very well until you embrace this truth. If not Radix Fidem, you need to find your calling in something that resembles an Ancient Near Eastern tribal association of fellow believers. The New Testament calls that a “church.”

No other form of association will qualify for the label “church.”

Meanwhile, be aware that God is currently moving in this world in such a way that the natural human instinct for tribal identity is reasserting itself in many ways. You’ve already seen how the globalists are preying on humanity by raising up victimhood as the siren song to draw folks into fake tribe-like associations. If not racial identities, it’s some other kind of victim identity.

Granted, a genuine racial identity will work for people who aren’t following Christ. However, we see precious little effort to do it properly. Most people are confused about it, and don’t understand that a genuine racial identity comes with conscious awareness of cultural identity. To be “white” means Anglo-American culture in this country. It’s a little different in other parts of the world. For example, South African whites are Boer, a mixture of Dutch and English culture. In Europe it’s a broad mixture of localized Germanic cultural identities typically associated with the common language, further broken down by local dialects.

So the Basques are not Spanish or French, and it’s frankly a sin to try forcing them to assimilate. The same can be said of multiple Celtic groups in the British Isles, the Uighurs in China, etc. God will judge governments that attempt to wipe away the natural tribal identities like that. That includes the US and our oppression of the various native nations that were here first. My understanding is that, for the most part, that by itself is not sufficient reason for God’s wrath to fall on America, but it’s part of the picture.

But His wrath on the US is part of a much bigger move of God to bring judgment on the earth for a long train of sins. A primary manifestation of His wrath is the rise of tribalism. It’s our natural humans instinct and it’s righteous, in itself. Sure, lots of evil will be done in the name of tribal identity, but that’s not the point.

The point is that if you allow yourself to be swept up into a very human brand of tribalism, you won’t be a part of the Kingdom of Heaven. Your blessings will be highly restricted if you don’t do this right. Play along as necessary, and salute whatever flag a civil power raises over your head, but your genuine sense of who you are must rest in Christ, and it must come down to your clan identity as a church. Given that no existing church will accept our convictions, we offer a virtual clan identity based on those shared convictions. We do this with the expectation that eventually our Lord will form local bodies of fellow believers around our faith.

For now, this will have to do; we are the Clan of Radix Fidem.

A Little More Clarity on Politics

I’ve gotten some offline queries that suggest I need to restate some things for the sake of clarity.

Immigration is not a left-right issue. Immigration is a globalist-nationalist debate. The globalists want to destroy every national government in the world. They are particularly interested in destroying the West. Their reasons for doing so have no relation to my complaints about the moral failures of Western Civilization. The globalists are plotting to restore a Tower of Babel situation where a tiny handful of elite rulers control every aspect of human existence. In every sense of the term, it is a Satanic plot to enslave the whole world.

To achieve this goal, they had planned on using one or more nuclear weapons that are not under proper military control. The details are a little fuzzy, but it appears at least one such weapon was supposed to be used here in the US in a false flag operation that would be blamed on Russia. The globalists had similar plans in other countries, all aimed at provoking a limited nuclear exchange that would destroy major cities across the West. The ensuing chaos was supposed to be an opportunity for criminal gangs among restive immigrant populations to fracture the system of government in multiple western countries. These criminal gangs are already defacto mercenaries for the globalists, already operating with some degree of loyalty to their paymasters.

So this whole social justice nonsense is something that has been forced into the leftist agenda. The SJWs are the cannon fodder for the globalists. At the appropriate moment, they would have all been thrown under the bus, as would the immigrant gangs. The point has always been to destroy the current systems because the globalists have learned that they cannot hijack them. They have tried, but it never quite worked as planned; people just didn’t buy into the propaganda deeply enough.

So Soros and his gang are paying this giant mob of Central Americans to invade the US precisely to create chaos and destroy the system of government. The more of them there are here, the less they will assimilate and the more likely they will demand changes that destroy the system. It doesn’t matter that you and I don’t like the system either. These globalists are offering a worse system, not the better one we see in Biblical Law.

Get used to the idea that revelation tells us how it ought to be, and revelation also tells us that humanity at large will never do what they ought. So this intentional destruction of the system is not a good thing; it’s worse than preserving the system we have had. By any means necessary, including the mass slaughter of Americans, they are determined to have it their way. It’s the same in every country in the West — they are determined to kill as many ordinary people as necessary for them to seize power.

They still have control over some nukes and other weapons of mass destruction. Granted, the military leadership of the US are no angels in our eyes, but we should be glad if they can eventually identify the agents throughout their own ranks and within the rest of the federal bureaucracy who belong to this globalist cabal and remove them from power. They are also trying to locate those mass destruction weapons.

Somewhere down the road after this, we will have to deal with the results of Trump and the military taking down the globalists. With globalists out of the way, the imperialist/Zionist agenda will take over the US government — such as that government may be at that point. In the long run, this will also fail, but that’s not close enough to worry about right now. Even with them in control, we will not get rid of leftist policies, since they use them, as well.

The issue with left versus right is not about destroying civilization. Whatever it is we can identify as communism is really a mask for the globalists. It won’t matter whether you call it communist or Progressive; it’s basically the same destructive agenda behind the globalists. Left versus right is merely the debate about relative economic liberty, along with the various implications. Left means less economic freedom and more government control. Don’t confuse that with communism, because communism is all about less personal liberty, as well, which is separate from economic policy. Social control over behavior is one thing; government control by law is another issue entirely. There is some natural overlap, but the issues arising from the debate over economic liberty are not the same as the debate over personal liberty.

Western lefties (“liberals”) want more personal freedom and less economic freedom. The business of controlling both is globalist/communist doctrine. Western righties (“conservatives”) want more economic liberty and prefer the government support social controls over personal liberty. It’s all about that materialistic middle-class society. Libertarians claim to want no government restrictions on either economic or personal liberty — the less government, the better.

You’ll notice that almost nobody represents any purity of doctrine on any of these positions. While quite a few folks say they hold these positions, they don’t actually invest much effort and resources in them. Instead, these various labels are used as fronts for corruption and personal enrichment. The globalists are the only real fanatics here, with true believers using their personal wealth to promote their agenda. There are surely cynical elements of expecting to profit in the long run, but their devotion to idolatry is quite obvious.

It’s quite possible that the apparent election victory in the House of Representative for Democrats will be short lived. For one thing, there are still two months before the new congress is sworn in. Trump and INSCOM have been working together spying on their enemies, and there could easily be a wave of indictments. But if this whole month passes with no evidence of such indictments, then everyone following Q has been a fool. And then it falls to vigilantes to fight against a resurgent globalist agenda, and things will get very messy, because the vigilantes are not organized and not working together except in multiple tiny fractured groups.

Thus, I hope Trump and Q aren’t so impotent as it might seem to some. There will be a lot less bloodshed if they can keep their promise. We still have to clean up the mess of urban gangs under globalist protection, with all the drug and human trafficking that comes with them.

Addenda: The idea that communism is “government by the proletariat” is bullshit. It’s the mythology wrapped around the truth that one elite group is seizing control and property from another. In order to have government, you must have an armed force ready to compel obedience with violence. For an armed force to be effective, it must be organized. Organization means there is a leader giving commands to others. The moment you have a leader, that person is defacto no longer a prole. They are simply another kind of bourgeois owner-in-effect with a different constituency.

Only on very small scales can you expect to find records of altruistic leaders in communist organizations. Given the fundamental materialistic doctrine in communism, it is inevitable that all communist leaders are corrupt. So “communism” in the real world always means simply government control over everything in the interest of economics.

What the Election Results Mean

I’m preparing for the worst; that’s my initial reaction. I can’t pretend I speak for you, but this is what’s in my heart this morning.

As before, we have no dog in this fight. That the Democrats now have a majority in the House doesn’t change the final outcome. God’s wrath is still falling on the US, and I am convinced the globalists will be crushed in the near term. What this means is that there will be more drama and bloodshed in the process than if the Republicans had retained control.

Keep in mind that the issue is not Democrats versus Republicans. It’s about the globalists who have some limited control over the Democratic Party. They are the target of the long-term plan among our military leaders who have already made it clear that they will reluctantly take violent action if things go too far. They already came close to a military coup a few years ago. Their resolve has not evaporated; there are a whole range of lesser actions they can take.

But the globalists are willing to burn the whole thing down, and take down the Democrats and the whole country with them. They had already planned to destroy the US for the sake of their drive to take over the whole world. They are deeply insulted at how their plan has been frustrated thus far. Very few people see this with any degree of clarity.

The take away for me is to wait and see what they will do next. I’ll be really surprised if the Democrats play this smart. They will be all sassy and confrontational more now than ever. It will be all about asserting force rather than using their position to salvage things before it gets destroyed. Were they really concerned with the future of their party, they would have thrown the globalists out and stuck with trying to take what leverage they have to shape policy. Instead, I fully expect them to make the most egregious and senseless demands against Trump personally, and that’s the wrong way to go.

This is the one path most likely to provoke armed right-wing vigilantes to action. While I don’t pretend to know what the breaking point is for such a response, I do know the provocations will ratchet upward and I feel certain we will see it go there. But there is enough hatred and resolve to see violence from both sides.

Thus, my take away is to be watchful. I had been praying for a more orderly path, but it’s now clear that our Father has decreed a messy end for the US. It won’t matter if there was vote fraud. Every little issue will become an excuse for fighting. It was never a question of who was right or wrong, but the refusal to negotiate realistically.

Let your cleansing wrath fall, O Lord, and start with me.

Just a Silly Story 14

I’m going to pare this article down to its essence. First there is a high correlation between locations in the US where there is a high percentage of:

1. Undocumented immigrants
2. Urban areas controlled by Democrats
3. MS-13 arrests
4. Sex slave bars (including juvenile slaves)
5. Human trafficking destinations coming out of Mexico

Now, if you recall during the Obama Administration we had this policy of “catch and release.” It was actually highly secret, in that nobody ever revealed where the catches were released, only that they were flown from the border to different locations within the US. They were strategically moved at government expense, chaperoned by HHS.

Someone with a devious mind has been digging and suggests there is a high probability that there were a large number of intentional MS-13 imports for the purpose of having an armed force to counter armed American citizens. Granted, there are millions or armed citizens with right-wing political tendencies, but the MS-13 gangs appear to be taking orders from globalists in the Democratic Party. They didn’t just slip in here and set up shop at random; they were sought out and recruited to support the globalist agenda. Not only that, but they are part of a very massive globalist guided financial support system based on drugs and sex slaves imported from Mexico and farther south.

For something a little more amusing, there is rising speculation that Trump is working with China and Russia to crush the globalist cabal. Most of what is reported as sour rhetoric between our government and theirs is just for show, a deception and sleight of hand trick to catch the globalists off guard. This one I find hard to believe.

Finally, regarding pre-vote polling: Democrats tend to be very noisy about advertising whom they vote for, while Republicans tend to be reticent. Thus, if a pollster contacts a D, they’ll get all kinds of partisan cheerleading. If the same pollster contacts an R voter, they get turned away because the Rs are tired of all the mouthy left-wing confrontations. Thus, polling data is highly skewed toward Ds.

We Are Babylon

Tomorrow’s election will change nothing.

Just a reminder, the issue behind whatever folks mean by the word “racism” isn’t really a matter of DNA. Whatever human hostility is there arises from cultural differences. The differences in daily expectations we all hold forth for our fellow humans is what evokes the spiteful interactions. Any difference in physical appearance is just the excuse, the standard marker for folks who don’t accept the same body of moral values.

Further, the differences between various cultures within a society typically arise from multiple sets of differences. Within every basic culture, there is also a separate overlay of class distinction. And then each new generation comes up with their own take on what constitutes “good versus evil” within the boundaries of a broad sense of civilizational identity.

The real problem is the pretense that those within a given political border should somehow just magically hold the same value system, regardless where all the various folk in the population came from. It’s this pretense that there should be a monolithic baseline that allows for the current violent political fracas. Each side pretends their values are the norm, and everyone else is being evil on purpose out of sheer perversity.

The American system of government presumes a single culture. It is essentially Enlightenment Anglo-Saxon. If you don’t happen to subscribe to that culture, politics will be awful. The system wasn’t designed to accommodate much variation. Once you mix in other cultural orientations, the system breaks down. The expectations are distinctly mono-cultural. It has never worked, since from earliest times we have had colonies with significant variations in what folks consider civilized behavior. On top of that, each of these cultures also had their own unique class structure with varying expectations. Thus, our Founding Fathers and their political rhetoric in devising a system of government was loaded with pretense and ideals that they should have known would not work.

The ancient empires had better ideas about such things. Emperors would typically leave the conquered peoples to their own devices about most things, even to the point of simply forcing the existing rulers to submit. It was mostly a matter of tribute/taxation and a forced alliance to support the interests of the ruling nation. The emperor typically established a baseline of expectations that were calculated not to interfere with how the conquered nations lived their lives in the past, except for draining off a little wealth and manpower for continued conquest.

This was the spirit of what God was demanding at the Tower of Babel. He was saying, “Go. Scatter across the surface of the earth and develop your own little nations and cultures.” Large political unions would be tolerated only insofar as they recognized the necessity of highly varied cultures. Each tribe was its own nation, it’s own common sphere of cultural development, and they were supposed vary some based on their adjustments to living in some particular terrain.

The US is not a nation by any sane definition. Within any given metropolitan area you’ll find multiple cultures forced to coexist and the situation is not at all optimal. There is some bogus underlying assumption that a common set of laws can govern this mixed mass of divergent human expectations. Worse, there is this Satanic assumption that such government can descend down into very detailed expectations, on a very intrusive level. Our Creator says this is evil in itself.

The USA is coming apart because it was never together. That was only something asserted from a wild mythology and self-deception. Our peak is long past, and what we see today is the wrath of God destroying what little structure we may once have imagined could exist. Because the people of the US persist in this oppressive false belief in everyone being forced to live by one cultural standard, God is judging us harshly. We were never one nation, and certainly had no idea who God is.

It won’t matter which side wins what tomorrow; there will be rising political violence because we don’t speak the same language.

Join the Tentmakers

There’s a big hullabaloo about signs of the End Times showing up recently (beware of the autoplay videos on the site). There’s the flawless red heifer in Israel, fish in the Dead Sea area, and a snake crawling out of a niche in the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.

Let’s look at these. The business with the red heifer is that one is required as a sacrifice at the opening of any new temple. It’s not a prophecy, but a ritual requirement, and the Jewish sages of today say there hasn’t even been one since biblical times, until a couple of months ago. The use of Ezekiel’s prophetic words about the flourishing of the Dead Sea are completely out of context. The passage cited describes a mystical vision of conditions after the Second Coming. Keep in mind that everything in the vision refers to a complete removal of all things fallen humans have done so the Lord can restore Eden. Finally, the snake at the Wailing Wall is typical hysteria over literalizing ancient symbols. It’s considered an omen because people are desperately looking for one.

Let’s repeat it to ourselves one more time:

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, no, not the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Take heed, watch and pray, for you do not know when the time is. (Mark 13:31-33)

There will be no clues or hints except what burns in the hearts and convictions of those who serve His glory. Throughout history, every generation has wanted to believe they were living in some special pivotal moment in history. Even those who did see critical shifts in human trends often missed what was actually happening. They kept looking for something that wasn’t there. They refused to see with their hearts.

For myself, I’m planning on seeing the End Times fever reach a frenzied crescendo, and then the modern State of Israel will be destroyed. It’s not the End of Time, but if it were, the State of Israel has no bearing on the matter. The current political entity bears no relation to biblical prophecy because they reject the Covenant in which those prophecies were revealed. Let’s not forget: The Lord can raise up children of Abraham from stones. DNA was never the issue; it was always the Covenant and its conditions. Anyone could become an Israeli by embracing the Covenant, the whole basis of their identity. Jews today do not embrace the Covenant, because that requires proclaiming Jesus as the Messiah.

You and I know that this is a pivotal moment for one reason: the restoration of the heart-led way. Not that folks didn’t discover it over the past two millennia, but that it has been restored as a conscious requirement for faith. I didn’t come up with this idea; I ran across it and recognized it for what it is. I am confident others hold it as well, but we haven’t bumped into each other yet. My first encounter with it was under the wording of “living by conviction,” something commonly taught, but perhaps not so commonly applied. At any rate, I took it seriously and it led me to this point.

All I have to contribute is simply how I experience it and talk about it. But this is going to change everything. This is a time when the Lord is moving and restoring things long lost. Don’t get entangled in talk of the End Times; that has always been a distraction used by Satan to keep folks from seeing God at work. Perhaps you’ve seen the deep emotional attachment folks have to that stuff. It’s a chain on their souls and keeps them ineffective.

How fortunate we are God has chosen to bring this freedom to life in us. We aren’t alone in our freedom, though for now it feels like it. My convictions tell me that in the near future, more folks will discover what we have found, and some will wish to fellowship with us. Prepare for the growth; stretch out your tents (Isaiah 54:1-5).

Teachings of Jesus — Mark 12:41-44

There’s a very obvious meaning to this brief incident, but the story is far richer with the proper context. For once I’m going to link to an outside source with more details than I have room to share here. Please note that my own research supports this outside source, bringing together a lot of information I found scattered.

The Second Temple (Ezra’s Temple) was likely built on the same foundation as Solomon’s Temple, but nowhere near so grand and beautiful. Herod came along and, as part of his political efforts at self-aggrandizement, found a project of expanding and beautifying the Temple would make a name for himself and endear himself to some of his political resistance. Being quite the architect himself, Herod designed the means to expand greatly the Temple Plaza with massive stones, so that the terrace was far larger than ever before.

This included a far larger Court of Women, where we find Jesus sitting after a long day of debating with the Pharisees and Sadducees, mixed with extended teaching sessions. In this part of the Temple grounds sat thirteen chests to receive money offerings for the continued upgrading and maintenance of the Temple. Each chest was locked and chained in place along the colonnaded sides of the Court of Woman. Each had a trumpet shaped brass receptacle on the top so that coins could be dropped in, but a thief’s hand could not reach down into it. They were also guarded by the Jewish Temple police. Jesus sat where He could see people approaching one or another chest at random and dropping in coins.

As Mark records things, Jesus had just been warning His listeners to avoid acting like the Scribes and Pharisees, who put on a big show. There were some walking by doing just that, dropping in a handful of coins that rattled in the brass horn. At some point, an elderly widow stepped up to one of the chests and dropped in two of the smallest coins (a fair estimate in today’s US currency would be about a dollar each in buying power). That would have just barely fed her for a few days, if she did all the work herself cooking the food from scratch. Instead, she chose to fast for awhile so she could make an offering. You can bet none of the big shots were going to go hungry from their noisy offerings.

She was just like the widows whom the Pharisees and Scribes defrauded to take their homes in the previous verses. When Herod began expanding the Temple, there’s a good chance a few widows were kicked out of their homes, because this was one massive project and we have no idea what was torn down to make way. Jesus noted that this widow had given more of her self than anyone else they had seen that day. This indicates there were still just a few Israelis who understood the ancient Hebrew otherworldliness, against the leadership and rulers whom Jesus said worshiped Mammon (materialism).
