Truth's Two Edges

It’s like an old Roman style sword; it cuts both ways.
Yes, those who adhere to God’s Laws can expect things to go differently. Those Laws are fundamental, the moral fabric of the universe itself. Since we moved here a few years ago, for example, storms and other natural disasters quit ripping this area. Two nights ago, I watched on radar as a fast-moving storm cell swept up from the south and collided with a very large batch of storms creeping our way from the northwest. The small cell steered the massive collection of storms away from us. People all around us faced hailstones ranging up to 5 inches (13cm) in diameter, fierce winds and heavy flooding rains. We barely got rain. We aren’t better than the people in those other places; we simply obeyed God’s Laws and reap the blessings. If more people obeyed His Laws, things would be different. That’s the way things work in this universe.
But that’s only half the issue. We were quite willing to face the total loss of all things we own. The Truth is more valuable to us than all the material goods of this earth. Indeed, we have already placed our lives in forfeit for His glory. We remain confident whatever we face is for His glory, and we glorify Him by how we face it. This is the other edge of the same sword. It’s not so much we have no trouble, but we view all such trouble differently. Nothing we do can keep God from working His own glory, but by our willing participation, that glory brings blessings. That is, what such participation brings is by definition a blessing. The only question is: How does God intend to glorify His Name through us? We give Him the credit, by our grateful thanksgiving, for sparing us from the destruction and sorrow.
He is the One who decides what “glory” means. That glory sword of Truth has two edges.

It's Not About Us

Truth lives in Heaven, so it’s not about us.
This blogger is a non-profit prophet. This is not about me. It would be a huge mistake to offer me any form or degree of reverence. I’m not holy, just chosen. No part of this will make sense on a human level, and it’s frankly not what I would have chosen for myself. It’s part of the same package where the Apostle Paul didn’t choose to become a Christian there on the road to Damascus. I’m not worthy to wash Paul’s dirty feet, so there’s no arrogance here.
Ignore me if you can.
The Truth cuts its own path in your soul. I won’t pretend it’s important because it happens to come from my fingers or mouth. I offer no proof of anything. If the message doesn’t carry its own proof for you, just move on and find something more entertaining to read. Don’t take me seriously, because I don’t.
There are some things which come with the package, some implications of this label “prophet.” I don’t surrender my personality, but you probably won’t see a lot of it. I don’t have room for expressing myself; it’s not about me. This thing is all-consuming. In the biblical tradition that means I don’t take up offerings, never ask for anything, but accept anything you decide to offer. I think of it as an offering to God from you, and a gift to me from God. If you ask me to pray for something specific, I’ll take it quite seriously. That’s because in that ancient tradition, a prophet is more likely to get an answer from God regarding your request. It’s not a privileged position or anything; it’s just part of how God does business. I’m an agent, conscripted at that. It’s not the agent making anything important, but for Whom he’s an agent.
Ask questions about the Bible and morality in general, and you’ll get my understanding of things. Not “The Official Answer” in that sense, but the answer I find myself compelled to give. If you have read anything I’ve written here so far, you’ll understand how Truth seems so fuzzy on this plane of existence. It’s a problem with life here, not Truth. This realm is all warped, twisted and broken. Truth is rooted in that Other Realm which is perfect, and is only somewhat expressible here. Truth coming into this realm is always somewhat flavored by the vehicle, including the people God appoints to express it for Him. I do my best to grasp the Bible from the mental frame of reference held by those who wrote it, and I’ve long contended most Western scholars get that wrong. You can decide for yourself whether my contention holds any water.
I’m not trying to convince you of anything. Whatever I could do by my human talents to change your mind is not going to have eternal consequences. It’s that “eternal” business which drives me, and I don’t trust my own abilities to accomplish anything which matters. So you can review my messages here from any perspective you choose, and I won’t take it personally. I’m not doing this for you, nor for me.
I’m doing this because I can’t avoid it, can’t turn away from it.

Imperial Sins

The current target for US invasion is now Syria.
The US has been funding and arming political agitators and paramilitary troops to grossly aggravate the current instability. Most of the mainstream news organizations would go so far as using images from other wars elsewhere to create the impression of just how horrible and insane is the Syrian government in slaughtering her own people. If you really wanted to know the truth, there are a precious few little bits leaking out here and there, even officially, which admit the atrocities are not the work of the Syrian government. So clearly, the plutocrats are cooking up an excuse to invade Syria.
I suspect this will also give Israel an excuse to invade Lebanon again.
None of this will bless anybody on the ground in these places. None of this is supposed to do anything more than press forward the old plan announced some years ago to end up having brought the entire Middle East under our imperial thumb. Piece by piece, we are marching to Persia. We bring no good thing to these people. America itself is so morally bankrupt we simply don’t have the words to express it, so it’s not as if we are helping these countries have a better life. One look at how we treat the civilians in Afghanistan or Pakistan (missile in your children’s bedroom tonight?) and it’s obvious we aren’t doing what’s right for anyone.
Before sin destroys an empire, it always splashes over into misery for everyone within reach. God’s wrath on us is just.

Advisory to Readers

Caveat first: It’s entirely possible I’m not sane. If you aren’t comfortable with what follows, you should stop wasting time reading this blog.
There is some big business in the Spirit Realm. Things have been decided; the world is about to change. This affects me greatly. Regular readers are aware I’ve been giving warnings how this will change my blogging here. It’s confusing to me, too. However, at least one thing has come clear to me today.
For the most part, I simply have no desire to write. In fact, I’m no longer interested in teaching in the broader sense. Whatever forces inside which drove me in the past have been pared down considerably. What I sense coming toward us will be very time consuming, and I won’t have room for most communications.
All I have left is the calling as prophet. If you keep coming here, you’re not going to get much else, and maybe very little of that. I’m still testing things against the bedrock of convictions. A new stone has been laid. Picture me tossing bits of my life against it; what doesn’t shatter is what’s left for me.
I won’t be posting at my other blog any more. Whatever I was doing there will be moved here. If you’ve been following this blog or checking daily, be aware it might get a little strange for you. I won’t blame anyone for moving on to other things, won’t think less of you.
Ask questions if you like; I’m not trying to be coy. It’s simply I’m not sure what else to say.

Eating My Words

Pardon me while I walk my talk.
I have to eat my words. The previous post in this space was about the joys of Cygwin, a POSIX emulator which made it possible to run something like Linux on your Windows machine. Except it suffers the same limitations of all Open Source projects.
That is, it’s developer centered. You see, most commercial software development pretends to meet the customer’s needs. It often does, because people tend to buy the software that keeps these companies running, and not buy the stuff they don’t like too well. But at least the customer does get some of what they seek, even if there’s a near monopoly which so colors their thinking on the matter, they tend to avoid getting too wild in their demands. In the process, the developer has to do what the managers tell them, regardless what developers may think is best. In Open Source, no one tells the developer what to do.
Not even the user. There is seldom even the slightest pretense of meeting user’s needs, and too often open hostility to even hearing from users. That’s the way of Open Source, though you still get the same lying sales pitch by way of the fanboys that you would from paid advertising executives who work for the commercial software firms.
A couple of months ago I was quite happy with CentOS 6 on my laptop, but then there came an error in the file system. It was fixed easily enough, but my research indicated this was a well known flaw in the Linux kernel at the time Red Hat selected their sources, and which CentOS has no choice but to use, as a derivative. The flaw has to do with hibernate mode on laptops.
Given that and some other stuff in the background of my life, I simply restored my Win7 installation from backup. Well, things in the background have changed again, as well as losing my interest in the graphical Internet. Windows does text mode poorly at best. Even when the tools are ported (if they are) it’s not the same. I need that text mode stuff now, and I can’t get it from Cygwin or other porting mechanisms.
So I’m fixing to try Xubuntu 12.04. Not the best of all worlds, but probably tolerable. If that fails, I’ll find something else. Or maybe I’ll just post a goodbye message tomorrow and leave it at that.
Seriously. I’m not a happy camper, and I’m getting really tired of what I can do with what I can afford when it comes to computers and the Internet. All OSes suck.
Update: As of this update six weeks later, I’ve been using Xubuntu 12.04 and it’s okay. It required a bit of doing to chase down a decent theme and the old Trench window decorations, but it’s all tolerable.

Public Service Announcement

Ordinary, nondescript guy stands before the camera. He holds up one hand, with thumb and forefinger less than a centimeter apart.
“I’m this close to dumping the entire world of graphical computing, including the Internet.”
Drops his hand down slowly to where the other hovers in front of his belt buckle. Brings the fingertips together and raises both hands to about his sternum.
“It’s not bad enough Americans are now on the hook for over 100 trillion dollars of derivatives trade, but there is this hideous rumor Facebook is thinking of buying the entire Opera SA of Norway. I can just see Opera browser now doing all the tracking for which Facebook is infamous.”
Fingers interlace, except the two index fingers. They rise to a steepled point which he touches to his lips. There is a pause. Then he pulls the fingers away from his mouth and folds them altogether with his hands across his midriff, adjusting his elbows outward.
“I doubt the Internet is going away. More than likely it will simply become so narrowed and dumbed down, no one with intelligence will keep using it. That is, not as it appears to most of the world.”
He turns to walk off stage left. Then stops after the first step, turns and looks down for just a second. Then turning just his head to face the camera…
“Not all elitism is evil.”

Not a Grouch

I’m not a grouch; I’m a hermit.
I love people and can spend hours with almost anyone. Regardless how difficult you may be, I’ll gain something from your presence. Mostly I’ll learn things you never intended to teach. However, it seems I do my best for others when I’m not around them much.
Being social is not necessary. It has its place, but the people with whom I have the closest affinity are folks who aren’t needy. On the other hand, the folks who seem to cling hardest are the most needy. There’s nothing wrong with being a social person; that’s most of the human race at any given time. But among every flock of sheep you need a couple of goats to keep an eye on things sheep ignore. Be social if you can. If not, find out why. What’s the calling which makes you more useful by yourself?
Most people need affirmation. That’s a weakness, but it’s so pervasive and common you had better get used to it. Learn to give affirmations skillfully and freely. Not false adulation, but encouraging words to those who don’t know what works best in their own souls. It’s a way of pointing them in a different direction than they one they are looking, or to keep them going in the right direction.
Most people think it’s a bad sign if you prefer solitude. Sure, it breeds madness, because we are all badly broken and most don’t know it, not really. Solitude in that badly broken state means you haven’t yet discovered what’s broken. That broken state includes a fundamental sense of isolation and separation from the Source of life. If we don’t start seeking to heal that isolation through other people first, we can’t progress to the Source. Only after you’ve worked through the other broken humans can you place your feet on the path to sanity.
I’ve always been willing to lead. I never wanted to take someone else’s answers. When I understood some of our brokenness, I became equally eager to follow, simply because that leaves the unimportant burdens to others who care about them. I don’t have to accept their answers, only use what they so eagerly give. It helps them understand their own brokenness just a bit better on that level above mere conscious thought. Graciously accept even as you show it’s not that important. Meanwhile, you eventually come to the place you don’t want or need to lead, and that’s when people tend to follow most.
If you avoid people because you don’t have the patience for them, you simply don’t understand. The best reason to avoid people is for the reason nearly impossible to explain. Somehow, it’s in their best interest, and you know it instinctively. Your best friends are in the Otherworld.

Leadership versus Management

Leadership is doing what’s right regardless who follows. Management is trying to control the outcomes, regardless how it’s done.
It would be easy to spill out a long post here by expanding and expounding on this, but I feel confident you get it. I don’t want followers. I want you to have your own vision of moral necessity. If you don’t have one, borrow mine long enough to understand what it’s all about, then head out on your own path.
It won’t matter who follows if you know what you’re seeking. Of course, someone always will, at some points. Your greatest gift is keeping your hands to yourself, as it were, and letting them work it out for themselves.

Bits: Chicago Still There

Am I the only guy who noticed there doesn’t appear to have been any false flag incidents in Chicago?
Go to your favorite search engine (I like Duck Duck Go) and put in the search terms “chicago nato false flag” and see how many alternative press articles there are on the alleged high probability of some sort of false flag event.
I suppose that stuff was going around since NATO announced plans to meet there, so I don’t really know who started that rumor. At any rate, the only false flag was the now infamous arrest of some protesters set up by an FBI infiltrator. Without those spies there would never be anything for the FBI to do.
So, what would you bet me the rumor was started by somebody who’s selling something, same as the mainstream press?

Cross Post: It's About Truth

(This is was a cross post from my other blog, where it falls under the heading of “prophetcraft” — instructional material. It seems at this moment important enough to post here, too.)
If I knew of a certainty no one was paying much attention to my prophetic ministry, it would change nothing I do.
Humans have this urge to focus on effects. They want to know what they do is accomplishing something, and they want to know it intellectually. We have this urge to want to see results, because we aren’t able to disassociate easily between the urge to serve and the reward of seeing changes.
Yet the Spirit calls to a higher regard. We don’t serve people, nor even our own sense of satisfaction. We serve Truth. It takes a lot of getting used to for us to set aside the human frustration of seeing no results with our eyes, and measuring with the Spirit.
Here’s the run-down. It’s entirely possible I’m off my rocker, completely bonkers and unable to distinguish fantasy from reality. Then again, I’ve often taught here and elsewhere reality — as it is commonly known — is not the same as Ultimate Reality. It’s all a big lie. If we waited on things to make sense, where would faith be? Faith is a sense of commitment which has no earthly reason, and it took Christ to the Cross. It steered Him away from all the things He could have had, because they were things Satan wanted, so as to prevent full redemption. By almost any human standard, Jesus was nuts.
So were His immediate followers, and the next few generations of Christians were recorded in history as nutty people.
We love the people who share our faith, because they make themselves available for love. But those closest to us? For the prophet, there won’t be that many. There can’t be. We are burdened with a load of care which comes after the Cross. We are called to see things even our fellow Christians don’t perceive well. It’s not their job to see what we see, or all would be prophets. Nor are we superior in any way, just different. It’s not always fun, but it’s necessary for the Kingdom message.
It’s Truth.
You can’t be a prophet without being a mystic. And in today’s world, that alone isolates you from a lot of other Christians. I suppose in some future age mysticism may make a return to the popular and acceptable consciousness of the mainstream of Christianity. We can only hope so. Until then, we stand in the most rarefied atmospheres hoping others will come out. But if they don’t, we aren’t even really that interested in saving ourselves, but of clinging to the Truth which won’t let us go.
I’d love to know if my spiritual blather helped others; I’d love to hear from them. That’s the human side of me. Chances are, people who find my writing useful aren’t the kind to blather back at me. You don’t have to post a comment just for my feelings. If you read this and learn something useful, it’s much more important you put it to work. My best friends are those who seldom chatter with me about much of anything.
If you know your calling isolates you, it’s not insanity to be isolated. It’s why I have so many friends who are dogs and children around here where I live. They aren’t burdened with the cares which chew up so many souls in this world. On the human plane, it’s a lonely, solitary existence. On the spiritual plane, there is such a great crowd of witnesses. That’s what matters, has to matter, and I keep teaching and reminding my self of that.
I keep coming back to the Three Pillars. It’s not about anyone on this earth, but about a commitment to the Truth at all costs. I’m bound to manifest Truth at every step, and my feelings simply don’t matter. It’s why depression and other forms of psychological instability simply aren’t that big of a deal. I’m still reaching out to others in empathy for their pain, but I can’t be responsible for their relief. All I can do is point out as best I’m able there’s another way to do all this. Nor do I expect anything in particular from the rest of the world. Sure, I use my best wisdom to calculate and guess how people will act. If you are paying attention, after awhile you come to terms with it and realize there are patterns you can perceive. It’s not wholly dependable, but there are few surprises. That’s why I barely cock an eyebrow when someone confesses to the most hideous evil impulses. I don’t expect much from people, nor even myself.
Just prophesy; speak the Truth. It’ll all be over soon enough.
