The Demon God of Sexual Fantasy

Westerners suffer a serious sexual psychopathology.

Western mythology has destroyed countless lives. It’s not so much a single thread as a collection of false dichotomies, the standard binary logic that makes Western Civilization damnably dangerous to Christian morality. If you don’t get the heart-led quantum moral logic of Scripture, you are doomed to a life of sexual neurosis at best. For example, on the one hand we recognize that sex can be a wonderful thing, but then we have all these false moralistic notions. There is no middle ground of recognizing that sexual desire is what it is without either repressing it dangerously or making it a god.

Let’s start with the worst of the demons here: Sexual Fulfillment. Just because you have a desire, it does not make you a demon, nor do you have some inherent right to fulfill it. Some part of us knows this, but it’s so deeply entangled with a damned moral mythology. But as we progress farther down the slope of civilization’s collapse, the boundaries keep moving. It’s not about the boundaries but the reasons for them and how they are used or transgressed that makes it so sick.

It’s one thing to have a realistic moral concept of how we are wired, particularly in our fallen state. Good moral boundaries don’t denigrate human appetites and try to heap false guilt on the person who feels them. Good moral boundaries simply restrain the desires to healthy avenues. There must be a recognition that we will always suffer a certain level of tension between what our raging hormones want versus what God says is our design.

So we should not be shocked that the women folk respond with warmth to some muscular guy with charisma. It would a pretty sad collection of ladies who didn’t feel the thrill; their wiring is badly perverted without that. Nor should we be shocked if the guys get a boner when some beautiful lass prances and preens in front of them, never mind being entirely too young. Don’t condemn the desire; that’s our wiring. It’s actually a good sign that everything we need is in good working order.

What is utterly missing from our Western society is the strong shepherd’s moral figure, the image of good manhood and womanhood as builders of a strong social structure. Read that again: It’s utterly absent. Whatever we think we have in that direction is a psychotic mess and utterly unrealistic. When people become led by their hearts — when that kind of mystical reasoning process becomes highly valued — it’s an entirely different world. The social and psychological restraints of Western society were junk from the start, and have only gotten worse. What keeps people from sin is not a bunch of perverted neurotic rules, but a persistent moral vision that transcends mere human reason.

As with everything else in human social existence, Western sexual mythology is a huge puddle of sewage.

Lots of truth about the “prancing lass” bit. Its taken as routine now but statutory rape laws are neo-Victorian nonsense. There’s rhetoric involved with that too: who’s going to argue for something labelled as “rape”?

It doesn’t help that Prussian model of education, Freudianism, and child labor laws infantilize people when they are biological adults, either.
