Today’s selection is all about sin.
One of the most popular and viscerally repulsive sins is child sexual molestation. It’s popular because it’s waved like a bloody flag to manipulate and herd the masses as some ultimate taboo. So I put together a short explanation of why we cannot possibly eradicate it from Western Civilization. Also, I note that as parents get more frantic about the damage it does, the more likely it will be damaging, should their children actually encounter such abuse — Sex, Pornography and Children.
But a broader and more general examination of how we are tempted by things in general reveals in the Bible a trinity of human weaknesses. This had been around quite some time when I first learned about it and my experience and work in pastoral counseling confirms the usefulness of it in helping people learn their own weaknesses — The Nature of Sin and Temptation.
