Get to Know Him

I’m investing in the future for my tribe. I know going into this that I will not see the fruit of the harvest, but my appointed task is to plow the ground and plant seeds. God says to me that this is my best benefit, that the blessings of eternity cannot compare with what some may say are “missed opportunities” here below. Indeed, I can assure you that I don’t see the whole picture. I’m not supposed to see it; there’s no possible way to see it in this fleshly form. Nobody in this world can see it until they leave this world.

And to be honest, I can’t even know who’s in my tribe. The truth is, though I did my best to teach my own children, they have shown no inclination to understand why they suffered a childhood deprived of all the things their peers had. It’s because I kept investing in a future they apparently don’t want. I cannot choose it for them.

So I’m seeking a family that shares my spiritual DNA, a family that knows they have been called into the same covenant. It’s a spiritual family. I know they are out there, but I haven’t met all of them yet. But they are my tribe, the people who will harvest the blessings of what I have planted.

The infrastructure of shalom takes multiple generations to build. It has to be maintained, but once built, it can last until the Lord Returns. It takes the full commitment to God’s Law, the Covenant of obedience to His ways in this fallen world. There are people who invested some in it long ago, and some others who did what they could to maintain it, but I can assure you the current state of disrepair is heartbreaking.

Do you understand that it was never a matter of rote observance of the particulars? It was always a matter of genuinely seeking the Lord as a real person, fully believing that His favor can be found. The particulars were meant to be flexible, and that has become far more apparent now that we have the life and teaching of His Son to clarify things. The issue has always been seeing Biblical Law as a manifestation of His person and character.

Of course, you know that this makes us extremists, don’t you? Our world will never take even the first few steps down this path, and will complain that our walking the path is hindering their efforts to build a better world. This world is doomed and unworthy of investment. It’s only the Eternal Kingdom that matters. And in this life, it’s Biblical Law that manifests that Kingdom.

Get to know the Lord.

Amen, dear Brother. I am so blessed to be a part of your tribe and family. We follow Him along separate paths geographically but heart to heart together folowing His ways. Oh, Happy Days following where Jesus leads.
