People who claim to be politically conservative in the US cannot be trusted to do any good. They are committed to preserving the system, but the system has been hijacked completely by the progressives. It’s gone; it cannot be recovered by any means. There will be no victories coming from elections, representation, the courts and other systemic provisions for expressing the will of the people.
Were the conservatives serious about solving problems, they would have already noticed this and begun the organized revolt they keep threatening. By the time some significant minority of them wake up and act, it will be the extremists who aren’t actually “conservative” because surrender and compromise is a fundamental trait of conservatives.
You and I as covenant people have no representatives in the system, and no safe haven. There is no one who will give us political cover in the current system. It is run by the cattle for the cattle, and the sheep of God’s pasture have no place in their operations. We don’t belong in the open plains, as it were, but in the mountains where we are harder to reach (social parables, of course).
This is part of why I keep calling for covenant people to pull away from the ambient society. There is no place for us there. We must withdraw into covenant households of faith; we must seek enclaves where we have some reasonable chance to cling to covenant life. To some degree, literal enclaves will not be available for most of us. What that means is that we must be creative in each of our scattered lives in this Twilight Zone in finding ways to withdraw as much as possible. Get your mind focused in that direction. Pray for His provision and guidance, and seize the opportunities as the Lord provides.
When the economic collapse gets farther down the road, it will become an utter necessity that we learn to live with other covenant people in extended family households simply to survive. It’s going to get that bad. Get ready for it. The situation will require us to be nimble and ready to jump. Follow your convictions.
It is not possible to obey the commands of Christ in the current system. Have you noticed that organized religion is wholly compromised? Churches that aren’t already subverted to progressive “wokeness” are conservative, in that they refuse to abandon the system. They would rather keep compromising and surrendering things our Lord commanded. They want the material wealth that comes from seeking to get the system to take them seriously.
We should be able to see by now that there is no way a covenant lifestyle will ever be taken seriously by the secular system. By embracing Christ’s teachings, we have become their enemy. Sadly, it makes us the enemy of mainstream churches, too. There is nothing we can do about this. Thus, we must accept the reality of things and act accordingly. I’m not suggesting that you run away and hide from your witness. I’m suggesting that if you don’t pull away and accept the rejection and persecution as normal, then you do not have a witness in the first place.
This is what Christ commanded. This is how we have a witness; this is how we teach them all that our Lord has commanded us and fulfill the Great Commission. If it gets us impoverished, persecuted and killed, that’s part of our witness. The times have turned and it’s going to be as bad as things ever were under Rome in the New Testament era.
