They act like they just can’t understand.
One of the first things to grow and the last thing to go in terms of civilization is potty discipline. People don’t start out fouling their own nest; it has to be a reaction to some severe distress. We consider it a form of torture to force someone into that dilemma. And we rightly consider it wholly uncivilized to make no allowance for general public facilities.
When I was traipsing all over Europe — biking, hiking, jogging and volksmarching — it was rare to encounter a village of any size without at least one accommodation visibly marked. Hiding them all behind commercial operations, attempting to manipulate visitors into spending a premium price on stuff they don’t want, for the privilege of being civilized is justly condemned. It doesn’t have to be much, just make it possible, or you’ll spend extra cleaning up the mess. BART is infamous for using vague threats of terrorism as an excuse to lock public toilets.
But there’s a lot of crap everywhere. I watched a very partisan debate unfold on a Facebook thread. It went pretty much as I expected. Partisanship is an easy cover for the arrogance of believing yourself the standard for goodness, so it doesn’t matter which side you claim.
Perhaps you are aware al-Jazeera has lost a lot of reporters, resigning in protest, because the agency participated in building a fake city in Qatar. It’s basically a film stage, where fake protests can be filmed and inserted into news broadcasts. The BBC used some of this footage from Qatar claiming it was a protest in Libya. Nothing new about that with the BBC, and it represents what we get from all mainstream news sources.
And now NASA is claiming Greenland is melting. Except there is nothing happening right now which hasn’t happened every year for centuries. All the variations have been easily seen before over wider scopes of time, but they like to cherry pick the data and pull up historical ranges which are not representative of longer trends. If NASA tells you the sky is blue, you better check for yourself.
Because we know government and mainstream press have colluded to lie, we have to seek other sources. But if you ignore the failures of alternative media, you are still a partisan idiot. One example is the very popular wildfire story of Obamacare making subcutaneous RFIDs mandatory. This story is a mess, and I seem to recall part of it comes from warnings made by Ron Paul, but blown out of proportion by the likes of Alex Jones and his brand of controlled opposition. When some website or source picks upon this garbage, then refuses to apologize or back down and offer a correction, you know they are bogus to the core.
I’ve eaten my share of crow, and will gladly have another helping when I find I’ve offered something inaccurate. I’m hardly infallible, but I don’t claim to have all the facts in the first place. I only know what I experience, sometimes passing through many hands before it comes to me. The only real claim to authority I make is concerning what burns in my soul, which I take to be the fire of God’s Presence. I can’t recall once attempting to stand on Mount Sinai and thundering to my audience some dark threat from Beyond.
So I maintain you can’t even trust your own intellect, but something much deeper in your own soul. That’s more reliable than anything I can offer, because that’s where the Divine speaks. Pay no attention to me unless it echoes in your soul.

Picture It

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse symbolize what happens when people refuse to do things God’s way.
The first horseman is Conquest, and we have been doing that all around the world. But those who live by the sword, die by the sword. It’s not so much we have conquered, but we have allowed some plutocrats to use us for that purpose. We’ve invested untold wealth in weapons and the expense of supporting them in the field. Thus, we have been conquered ourselves long ago. You could almost call the first Politics, because the point of politics is conquest and control.
The second horseman is War itself, the mass slaughter of life. Given the US cannot justify before God a single war, not even the Revolution to be honest, we are a nation of mass murderers. We have tons of propaganda coverage for everything, but it doesn’t take much to discover the facts which make it a lie. And we love it so much. Along with this death is destruction of infrastructure, of course.
The third horseman is Famine. Destroying stuff can really disrupt the daily routine of any people, and the first thing to suffer is food production and movement. We have starved a lot of people, often with savage intent, to force them into dependency. In our case, it’s been such a vast waste of resources in military ventures, there is no hope of funding the basic necessities of life back home. We’ve wasted everything to go a bomb people who never did a thing to us except frustrate the plans of plundering plutocrats.
The fourth horseman is Death. Not merely in the sense of slaughter and famine, but in the deeper sense of utter degradation, decay, slipping into oblivion. This is where we as the warrior nation have suffered most. All that money poured into war means we can’t even keep ourselves alive. We have begged God for His curses, and here they are.
Did you know drought can destroy highways and rail lines? It can shut down power generation. I don’t link to the NY Times, but they have an article up describing the vast breakdown of infrastructure going on this summer: highways buckling in the heat, rails kinking from expansion beyond engineered stresses, runways becoming sticky fly-traps for aircraft, cooling ponds too low or too hot, and huge cracks opening up all over where the swampy clay is exposed to drying.
That’s on top of food prices soaring because the drop is killing crops. You can send the Four Horsemen, but they always ride home. Critical to Hebrew thinking is God must be revealed, and if you choose wrong, you’ll become acquainted with His wrath. The same horses could plow and transport, but we are willingly blinded for the sake of mere creature comforts. The bill has come due.

Don't Follow Me

I’m pretty sure I’ve approached this before, but it seems necessary to say it again for some reason: I am not a leader.
Don’t follow me, because it’s wholly unlikely I’m going where you are supposed to go. Yes, hang out and see what I’m doing, and how I do it, but don’t get so attached you forget what matters most. There may come a time when circumstances will call on me to lead in some way. I do lead in Sunday worship here at home, but that’s not the same thing at all. I’m referring to disciples, to be precise.
Let’s assume someone is crazy enough to insist this is what God demands of them. Fine, but stay out of the way. The nature of my calling requires I pretty much stand alone. What I don’t have and can’t get, I do without. This is critical to the nature of what I teach.
Yes, I do teach, but only so you can learn enough to leave the classroom. I won’t give you enough detail to satisfy your curiosity, because that level of detail must arise from within you. Don’t you dare swallow everything I say, because it’s guaranteed I’m wrong on some things. Or, something I’m going to offer just isn’t what you need. My mission is not to see you through, but to stand alongside as you explore. You’ll get some pastoral support, but that’s not nearly as much as most people seem to expect. I’ll warn you of things which have hurt me, but I won’t stop you by any measure.
Take your own path. I’ll do what I’m called to do, which is first and foremost to demand accountability to the cosmic moral imperatives. I offer details and explain them so you’ll have some idea what I’m pointing to, but I’ll be the first to add the warning the really important part is beyond words. Train your own mind to obey that deeper voice calling, pointing at something no one can comprehend, but can nonetheless obey. It’s all symbolic, so don’t take me literally on much.
Maybe that will change some day down the road; it’s not up to me.
And if all it’s worth to you is a good laugh, that’s good enough for me.

More Stories We Tell (Updated)

DARPA did not invent the Internet, Xerox did. While DARPA did have a bunch of universities and contractors examining things, implementation would have taken decades. Xerox needed it right away, and made it happen inside their offices. That they did not develop it further shows only their lack of interest beyond their immediate need. Bureaucratic controls would have prevented the Internet from ever happening, had it been left up to the government.
(Edit: The above link to WSJ takes you to an editorial which isn’t accurate. Actually, no single agency can claim to have invented. It was officially an accident arising from a series of choices. However, the underlying issue is the government couldn’t have done it without contracting it out to people who knew and understood. And until someone found a non-government use for it, the thing was just a wild speculative project. Yes, the research was government funded, but the implementation was a collection of geniuses who surely would have done it in their own time with whatever they could get their hands on, whether private, public or whatever.)
There would not be very much armed violence in Syria had not the US and some allies spent millions of dollars arming and training the “resistance.” There would not even be much political resistance had the US and allies not funded massive education programs designed to propagandize and radicalize the people involved. What they taught those people is the very thing which would get you shot here in the US.
The Bible doesn’t make much of what we call freedom and liberty. That’s because those are concepts tied to a fallen world, and the real thing is something which can exist only inside of a person. In this fallen world, you will never have, nor should you desire, what most people think of as political liberty. A free land is simply one which is ripe for conquest. Were it not for a lying oppressive government determined to hold its resources as a means to exerting power and getting more resources, we would all be dead. While you can have a government that pleases God, one which He is willing to perform miracles to protect, no one is willing to try it, so don’t expect to ever see it.
In any given population, no matter what you teach them, someone else will teach them something different. You cannot create a nation willing to fight for their freedom. It’s been tried and we never got more than a tiny minority willing to play soldier. The greedy merchants pushing for war didn’t want a genuine country of citizen-soldiers they couldn’t control and manipulate. Were it not for the very politically biased support of stronger allies who bankrupted their own country in the process, there would not have been an independent America.
Oppression is the native state of humanity. Government never creates anything, but steals from others and claims the glory. Get used to it, folks. God specifically denied any interest in making this world a better place. He did offer a path to sanity, but it has been consistently rejected, starting with those who understood it best. The only hope you have is implementing as much of it as you can in your own life, and letting God take care of all the rest. You’ll be amazed at how much He’ll do with only a modicum of obedience to His plans. If you aren’t interested in His plans, you should expect no assistance from Him beyond the mere accidents of random political fashion.

Quiet Day

It’s quiet here today.
A couple of grass fires in the OKC Metro, but they were quickly contained. Cops in Anaheim executing people in the street is a world away. Aurora is a long way from here, and lots of folks are suggesting it was staged, anyway. We’re too busy roasting to worry about that stuff. There are hotter places and they can keep it, thank you, this is plenty bad. When it’s hot like this crime soars.
Conspiracy theorists are keeping an eye on London. Taking bets on what sort of false flag operation is going down. Taking bets on when Israel is attacking Syria, Iran, or maybe Lebanon. Silly people. Not because it can’t happen, but more that it can’t be stopped.
But it does feel like the calm before the storm.
This heat and drought is already pushing prices up on corn, and soy beans are set to rise, too. It’s all GMO stuff anyway, but the tight market will hit organics, too. I’ll need to stock some good ol’ Red Mill dry polenta (corn grits) this week. But for everyone else, that GMO corn is used in everything at the grocery store, and more places you can’t imagine if you don’t read labels. Prices going up already, and the upper limit is way up there.
It doesn’t take a prophet to see what sort of trouble that brings. Serious inflation on basic needs while there are fewer jobs than ever, and subsidies/welfare cuts making their way through Congress. And Europe is having some serious troubles with banking, etc. We are sure to feel that here later.
Make preparations if you can. Hope you can keep what you buy. As the wrath of God rests longer and stronger on America, I fear the fallout will hit a lot of folks who have their own problems. While nobody is innocent, we have done so very much to grab hold of so very many people in the world, making them dependent on us, something they hardly requested. Don’t weep for us, because we asked for this. But I’ll weep for all those who didn’t have much choice. Americans will be morally on the hook for more blood than anyone can imagine.
But it’s quiet today.

Critical Distinction: Playing God

In a broad general sense, all politics is evil. That is, I’ve not seen anyone doing it God’s way in so long, I’d be shocked if it somehow appeared. Having written often and at length here about doing things the right way, I wanted to point out what I believe is a prime example of the wrong way we should come to expect.
Censorship as is commonly understood isn’t censorship; it’s silencing critics. The term “censorship” refers to the practice of removing information before it gets published. Someone in the chain of publication takes the step to block certain information coming through the system, originally for the purpose of preventing critical intelligence from leaking out where enemies of the state can see it. Naturally, this rather common-sense practice was abused, as there is no such thing as government restraint. So I’m not going to abuse the term “censorship” in connection to what is more about silencing valid complaints, which is correctly called simply “tyranny.” Among the Old Testament prophets, it was typically called “evil” because it reflected an in-your-face arrogance toward God.
I’ve tried to make it clear in my “Readers Note” page I hold myself accountable, not to let anyone just rattle on about anything they please, but to keep things on topic. I actually encourage people to talk about me anywhere else they like on the Net, and I’ll even help set things up. Do a decent job and I’d be willing to link it in my blogroll. My flaws are hardly a secret. The issue is not silencing critics, but keeping this blog honest to its purpose.
When I first ran across this little item on Cryptome a couple weeks ago, I filed it mentally under the same category as the Delphi Technique, as methods of manipulation. The whole purpose is removing, not merely freedom of choice, but the very capacity for thinking which leads to free choice. This is the whole bag of sinister efforts to make people afraid to look into truth. It’s just a step away from torture, in that it seeks to dig into the very process of a person’s brain, something Scripture regards as the sacred ground for God alone to tread. In other words, it’s all typical of Satan himself.
Little did I know it might become an issue on Slashdot. Indeed, it simply would not occur to me. Yes, this story might be a lie, and the fellow complaining may be making it all up. On the other hand, I have to wonder just how many places the hand of government infiltration has touched. Given how Slashdot’s editors have positioned themselves publicly, this business is most certainly on-topic with the audience, and wholly appropriate for Slashdot. So if this is complaint isn’t a hoax, it shows a serious compromise, and marks the forum as untrustworthy.
You’ve no doubt seen the popular canard: “If you have nothing to hide, what’s the problem?” The problem is we have a paranoid bureaucratic government which takes almost everything out of context, and has been known to abuse, torture and murder people on the flimsiest pretexts that they used the wrong word or sentence. Let me give you an example:

The only way to end tyranny is to assassinate tyrants. Ending tyranny in America today would call for such a huge bloodbath, you can’t imagine it.

If you know anything at all about me, you know that is a warning to “underground patriot” types to forget their plans for fighting back against an unconstitutional government. The statement implies it’s too late for that. Normal people would know that, but I guarantee you a huge number of bureaucrats are stupid enough to suggest I’m promoting anti-government assassinations. Some of them are government law enforcement agents. Yes, the FBI is loaded with people who are just that stupid, as is the Secret Service and others.
So when someone comes up with a typical sarcastic comment on Slashdot about standard government stupidity, you can be sure those agents assigned to watch Slashdot will most definitely mark the commenter as someone needing watching. It could easily lead to bogus arrests, beatings and all sorts of unconscionable evil because government people are typically brain dead idiots. Smart people usually avoid government jobs. But these brain dead idiots have lots of guns and an eagerness to kill folks that annoy them. So while I normally would not bother to post on this subject, it demonstrates an alarming shift which came long ago, such that the wide open crazy Linux loonies and Open Sorcerers are now shot through with government spies looking for one more excuse to make harmless people miserable. I could hardly dare to guess when this happened, but I suspect it was way back when Slashdot was borged and moved their servers to a commercial publishing operation.
The sin lies with the government idiots. You see, the truth of these things is available to them. It’s not above their intellectual capability, but it is beyond their moral willingness. They chose to be stupid and evil.

Not Another Reformation

Should my mission attract any significant notice, sure as the world some fools will insist on calling a reform movement.
I can’t prevent that, nor is it really all that bad. Still, the mission is not a reformation. There are lots of other nifty “R” words that fit better. Like “radical” — I’m all about plowing it all down and starting from where it was almost 2000 years ago. This is more like a restoration of all the things lost to Christian faith since the Apostle John moved his office to Heaven. I am the ultimate reactionary hoping to see a recovery of First Century Palestinian Christianity. And in a previous post, I mentioned a renaissance of that Ancient Near Eastern religion of the Old Testament.
So far, I’ve managed to avoid coming up with some cutesy marketing label for this mission. That’s for someone else to do, and I hope they have the decency to let me die first. But they won’t. That’s because there is nothing in this which purges its own ranks, as it were. That’s what makes it so very different from everything we have now. It’s very much of the gospel truth of repentance and obedience, and turning your whole world upside down and not making very many of your fellow humans happy with your choices for quite some time, if ever. It means a radical rejection of anything which smacks of reform in the first place, because the whole focus is otherworldly. We are fixing this world. We’re giving notice and vacating ASAP. Still, something like this can’t simply eliminate folks who aren’t really fully absorbed, and trying to keep them out would be contrary to what I teach.
While it is utterly impossible to avoid drawing interest from “the unchurched,” this is not a mission of that sort. I don’t anticipate forging as did Paul into areas where the gospel has never been heard. Not only are such lands increasingly difficult to find, it’s not the emphasis. Rather, my primary calling is to Americans, initially. Anyone is welcome from any part of the world, but personally coming to any foreign lands soon is not on the agenda. Take up the slack where you are if you want in on this. Most of the folks who are likely to join in what I’m doing will already be some sort of Christian. Frankly, only those who know something is missing and are seeking another level of the same thing are likely to pay any attention at all. The whole point is I’m not going out to chase down any particular audience. I do expect the challenge a lot of folks on where they are and whether it’s really all they’ve been told.
Still, I have no idea how this will start. I’m yet praying for guidance as to what the vehicle will be.

Micah 2

We note in passing this chapter has proved quite difficult to follow at times, and commentaries vary widely on what to make of it. However, some things seem rather obvious. We see the life cycle of human government, even among the Chosen People of Jehovah, always ends with a highly sophisticated and calculating plot to rob their very own.
Micah begins the chapter by describing how the rulers of the whole nation set about weakening the peasantry. Regulations hemmed them in, forcing them into a weaker position against the more wealthy and favored merchants. Monopolies were created and prices jacked up far beyond any semblance of market value. Predatory lending was carefully designed as a cover for plans to confiscate property. In every way, the promises of God under His Laws were frustrated, doing everything in their power to nullify His blessings. God counts this the same as declaring war on those over whom He had made them rulers. It was the ultimate perversion of their privileged role, an ungrateful slap in God’s face.
God’s response was to note, while they may well succeed in devouring the flock of God, their own fate would be worse. Those living in grinding poverty and oppression would find Assyrian captivity a relief, but the nobility and royalty would become slaves. The oppressed would mock them with a sarcastic lament of how all that stolen inheritance of land was divided among the Assyrian nobles. “What we have stolen has been stolen from us!” When God was through, the ruling class would be utterly erased from the Covenant.
These rulers had the arrogance to demand prophets such as Micah pipe down, to keep their impassioned pleas for justice out of their ears. They got all huffy and proposed rules and laws to silence such prophets, as if it were somehow undignified. They repeat the mantra about how Jehovah is so long suffering and patient, quoting the words out of context, and the prophets shouldn’t be so judgmental. So the Lord answers how cherry picking through His promises and ignoring the curses in the Covenant is intellectually dishonest. The promises apply only to those who embrace the whole Law of God, but the ruling class was in flagrant violation of the most basic and obvious commands. How easy it is to forget His Laws require a fundamental justice which granted favoritism to the weakest. These rulers were tossing single mothers out on the street on the flimsiest pretense of greedy perversions of His Laws. Ignoring the moral boundaries results in God removing His powerful hand of protection on their political boundaries. Their sin was an open invitation for invasion. On the other hand, if some smooth talking seer came along and prophesied of good times and easy luxury, they would throw their money at him, promoting him as the voice of Heaven. But that would be another god, not Jehovah.
The real God of Heaven and Earth did not act as they. Somewhere in the far future, He would call and gather the scattered remnants of His People. As with all such prophecies, we correctly see this on two levels. Those of the Northern Kingdom walking in faith did eventually come sneaking back home to live in Judah, and the Lord protected them. We have no idea how many escaped the Assyrian exile, but it was significant. Those lacking any commitment to the Covenant would have no reason to return. But we know on another level, the Lord would eventually open His Kingdom in Heaven to all humanity, and make of them the New Israel. So Micah contrasts how God operates against the rulers of both Samaria and Jerusalem.

The Mission

A peek inside my head…
None of us is all one person. Total integration is not possible in the flesh, because the flesh is unable to go along peacefully with the better way. True peace means surrendering the flesh, and we foreshadow that by struggling against it, trying to still it’s voice in our heads and making it serve. So a part of me struggles over things which are of no consequence, but which seem important in terms of the flesh. some other part of me has to keep a focus on things which matter on another level.
Regular readers know my routine. I keep pressing ahead for three things:
1. Thinking like an Ancient Hebrew. I call people to embrace the epistemology of the Ancient Near East as fundamental to making some sense of reality.
2. By extension, mysticism in Christian faith. I don’t see how you can be a real follower of Christ without embracing His obviously mystical and otherworldly approach the things.
3. Embracing the Laws of God. Based on the previous two points, we are ready to reach for an understanding of what the Laws of God are trying to say in the broader sense about what constitutes justice. We are all bound in this life under the moral fabric of Creation.
Those three items together constitute a jarring cultural departure into something which is timeless, independent of all human inventions and trends. Not in some harsh legalism and making demands of others, but making high demands on ourselves to recognize the nature of this world’s failures and striving to cling to the Truth. A commitment to Truth for me means a commitment to reflect God’s glory. I don’t have to understand all the details of how everything works; some of it will always reside beyond human ken. I only have to be ready to see how God’s glory shines in events I don’t control, and try to hitch a ride on that thread of miracles.
I’m pretty sure I can’t express how well this works for me. I’ve already discussed how painful it was to get here, including suicidal tendencies. Instead of tormented, I’m now ready to die peacefully. Since that hasn’t happened yet, I am left with the compelling need to pass it on. I don’t project that need onto anyone else, I’m just determined to make the offer. I’m content for no one to join me, but my experience has proven others will be drawn to it.
Choosing the target audience is not in my hands. For now, the Internet is sufficient. I am at peace with this as the forum for making that offer. Something inside me knows beyond all doubt this will change. While I have no idea how or why it will change, that’s not the point. Something not a part of my flesh or intellect demands I prepare for some other means of sharing. The part about making my body ready for tough experiences is pretty easy to understand. The other parts are, for now, more confusing. While it’s obvious I need to have my mind clearly in line with the agenda, and prepared to face all sorts of attacks common to a battle of ideas, there is yet something inside unsettled, disconnected.
Things I’m not too worried about include travel, life support, and all those other questions involved in human planning. It’s not wrong to consider them when it lies in your hand, but none of that is in my hands right now. It’s enough to let it all rest in that unopened package labeled “Big Adventure” and let it manifest according to a greater power. I’m comfortable that will all work out. Even screwing everything up is sure to turn out well in the end, on that other level of consideration.
No, what interests me at this point is the cover story. Will there even be one? So much depends on the ostensible reason for engaging the world differently than I do now. So far, every previous mission has been under the cover of something more mundane. While carrying out some occupation generally considered useful by other humans, I always managed to express my faith simply in how I went about that occupation. People were demanding an explanation because it was not what they were used to seeing. The question is not whether it’s some job I can do. Suffering is a job, if it comes to that. The question is what is the proximate cause for doing anything at all; how will I come into contact with this unknown, unseen audience out there? And if there is no cover mission, I’d need to be ready for that, too.
For once, there is no apparent vehicle, no drive to excellence in some human pursuit. This is no mere human discomfort; I’m willing to walk in my calling in the most direct and open manner. But whatever is ahead will not be restricted to blathering on the Internet. I can’t proceed very far without seeing that target painted on something my brain can recognize and implement the necessary actions to share this treasure. Even when we manage to bridle the flesh, we still have to decide between hitching, saddling, etc.
For those of you given to praying with me: I’m not looking for ideas in the common sense, but a revelation. What’s the mechanism; who and where is the audience?

Human Nature and Sexual Attraction

Modern society typically gets the most important elements of human life backwards.
We call it “perversion” when some force throttles the message of truth and twists it out of shape. I take my truth from the Bible specifically, and ancient Hebrew culture generally. So far as I can determine, little else can offer a more thorough and accurate prediction of how humans generally act. Sometimes you have to read between the lines, but that’s fundamental to Hebrew literature. It’s there, whether you notice it or not.
Often enough, within any given civilization or cultural context, you’ll find echoes of that truth. All truth is God’s truth. We can debate endlessly about whether something only appears to work, but that in itself may be a reflection of your bias. Mine is clearly stated, and I believe I’m pretty consistent. I find modern American culture deeply perverted and there’s no hope of fixing what’s wrong. Somewhere between the ideal situation revealed by God and where we are today, we can always find a better answer. If you understood the assumptions behind the various social requirements in Ancient Hebrew societies, you would understand how things need to be done today.
That includes human sexual attraction. Fundamental to human nature is men as peacocks. They put on their best show, strutting their stuff, and win the interest of the hens. It’s up to the hens to decide, but they must act. The idea a man must pursue the woman as the prize to be won is almost entirely a product of European culture. To be specific, it arises mostly from the Germanic tribal mythology. It’s wrong.
In our modern society, the man who walks with God stands alone and has no other need. His calling and mission are all he needs. He trusts in His Lord to bring all necessary support and resources. He acts with total devotion, his eyes on the mission. In this he will be as close to the manly ideal as he can ever be. He is frankly better off alone, but that’s just a basic premise. Most of the time, God finds the man needs supporting cast and crew. It is God who prompts and leads a godly woman to desire a part in that mission.
Yes, there are variations in how this works out in details, but given where we are today, the above description is as close as we get to what’s in the Bible. Women don’t have to be brazen and direct, but it’s not wrong if they are. In more popular terminology, the man has to work on his Game. Not in the sense of obsession with attracting a mate, unlike the peacocks, but simply as the result of obeying his calling. If that doesn’t work, he needs to pay attention to his mission until God provides. A needy man is a failure. So is a needy woman, but in a different sense. She has to be mature enough and confident in her God and obey His prompting. It’s not as if He doesn’t care and won’t give you a clue.
A woman who chooses a strong service role, or leadership role, must either be an accomplished woman in her own home first, or regard herself as called to have no home, as it were. There is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing to avoid the whole issue of marriage, but not if you are simply putting it off until it’s more convenient. Need I state the obvious? God regards all sex as de facto marriage in one sense. There is absolutely no place for losing virginity, for either sex, outside the intent to obey the Lord and keep it in the marriage bed. Notice the issue is intent to obey.
But ladies, in broad general terms, you have to make the move. The Bible assumes you’ll have help from family and friends, but we seldom do that right these days. Don’t wait for your man to chase you down. He’s supposed to be too busy for such things. When the Lord makes it clear you’ve got a live one, work within the context of your personality and life situation to make that connection.
Any other approach is pure mythology, a reflection of social perversion and an insult to God’s revelation.
