I dream of the day when the Lord will send me to the fields white unto harvest. I dream of spending time among a people who seek a living faith that climbs above this world, even as they learn to live most morally within it.
There is no doubt that the world as we know it now is hardly ready for our faith. Radix Fidem would shock most of the Christians we might encounter. Oddly enough, we have less trouble with folks who don’t profess to follow Christ in that way.
You won’t catch me suggesting our way is the only right way. We believe it’s best for us, assuredly, but that doesn’t make us elites. There’s nothing smug about this. We recognize that only by some ineffable miracle of God do people take our teaching seriously.
Still, there has to be some folks out there somewhere who aren’t going to hear the message unless they first see it working in one of us. I dream of the day I can carry this word to the scattered souls whom God has prepared to receive this sweet word of comfort. Do you?
