Praying for an Upgrade

Poor baby. I’m giving her all she’s got and it’s just not enough any more.

My Inspiron 4100 has a 1Ghz CPU with a half-GB of RAM. It’s not enough any more. I still love the little beast, and use it every day. But I keep running into tasks for which it simply is not able. I’m also quite happy with CentOS 5.3, but it requires a little more machine for the stuff I do.

So if you understand prayer, pray with me for some kind of upgrade. I don’t much care if it’s a laptop or desktop system, but I would really like to have an LCD. I spotted quite a few decent systems on Craigslist, but I simply don’t have any room in the budget. That’s why it’s a matter of prayer. Not begging, but prayer.

I just passed off that clunky Pavilion 542x, and hope I never get another machine with such cheap components. Those Trigem boards are trash. HP, Compaq and Emachines cranked a lot of them. I’m not all that picky, but there’s no sense having something which is simply not going to work with Linux. I don’t care about fast video, huge harddrives, video cameras, etc. Frankly, something aimed at server use would be best, but I realize those tend to be a lot more expensive. So if you ask me while I’m dreaming, here’s what I consider close to ideal:

CPU at least 1.5Ghz, dual is better, RISC is nice
1GB RAM is plenty
Any video chipset for which X.org has drivers
Sound (anything that works with Linux)
Ethernet port
At least 30GB harddrive
DVD-RW
Display 17″ or better (capable of 1280×1024)

Yep, dreaming….zzzzz.

Easy Targets

So far, most of the newest crowd control weapons have been deployed against harmless protesters. In other words, that nasty business in Pittsburgh over the G-20 meeting was police bullying. The way you can tell is no one did anything to the primary weapons. The protesters didn’t assault the cops; that was the work of provocateurs, cops in disguise. Rather, the protesters kept trying to avoid the cops. Their only intent was to have their say, something we used to believe mattered here in the US.

Had the police been facing a real threat, I’m pretty sure those fancy toys would have been broken very quickly. For example, that super-sound-blaster could easily be defeated with a couple of sniper rounds. Shut the thing off and the police don’t have quite the advantage in assaulting First Amendment rights. So far, the police haven’t really faced any serious resistance, which proves they aren’t dealing with any real threat. It’s just naked government bullying, wholly unjustified.

A part of me wonders how long the more destructive resistance tactics will sleep. The government is arming themselves for yesterday’s battles, and what they use today is actually aimed at the anti-war riots of the 1960s and 1970s. In short order I predict those tactics will fail, as the resistance is hardly so slow thinking as government. I also wonder how long before folks realize they are under armed occupation, and what our troops are doing in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. is just a mirror image of what’s happening here. We are occupied by a foreign entity, most certainly not of us, nor operating in our interests, but an invading forced determined to destroy whatever we have so they can carry out their rape without resistance. The term “continuity of government” is just the label for it.

The system was closed long ago against external input. Those who prevent peaceful change are demanding violent revolution.

Can’t Walk Away

The one thing which matters most in our human existence is conviction.

The model of human nature to which I subscribe assumes human nature is a trio: flesh, mind and spirit. We can’t really separate them very well in actual practice, but it permits academic discussion. Further, I posit not every human has a living spirit; most are dead spiritually. We were designed for it, but the default condition right now is no operative spirit. God alone can awaken it, and He has chosen not to reveal the hows and whys of that. Nor are we permitted to know whether another person is alive or dead in the spirit, only how we should respond to them. We are constrained to remain open minded about it, and work off the cues He has revealed. Academically, I can’t say whether the spiritually dead possess convictions, but it seems there is something which operates that way for them.

The word conviction in this sense refers to a body of belief which drives us, seems to have a life of its own, and does not necessarily respond to reason. It is as if we were programmed somewhere below the conscious level, and can only counteract that program at risk of suffering mental instability, or at the very least, neurosis. It’s roughly equivalent to the concept of conscience.

What’s the difference between dogged determination and hard-headed foolishness? Only our internal evaluation. The mechanism inside another human soul which drives them beyond any hope of “success” is conviction, functionally labeled. Whether that conviction is good or bad depends on who is looking at its effects. What’s more important is for us to make a place in our cultural understanding of this world.

Armed agents of the government tend to say someone is good or bad based on whether they can persuade someone to obey their mandates. Ask any cop, and they will seldom admit the people they’ve had to threaten and coerce might have possessed honorable motives. It’s the orthodoxy of “modern policing” — resisting the will of the cop, which is presumed to be the will of the state, cannot come from a clear conscience. The hive mind of human government cannot permit the acknowledged existence of something “good” which is contrary to the policy of the state. Thus, the state is God in the sense of defining what is good and evil.

This over-simplification leads to the current descent into Police State misery. An obvious conclusion I ask you to make is realizing what you are told is “the law” or legal requirement is not necessarily just, and certainly not necessarily righteous in God’s eyes. Whether you believe in that third element of human nature, my message to you is: The starting point is Noah’s Laws, and God Himself has promised you can understand it well enough to please Him when you are forced to decide whether any particular demand of human government is justified. The mere existence of human government is not sufficient cause to obey as if God had spoken.

For those of us who believe our spirits are alive, we sense the certainty a core of conviction was planted within our spirits by God Himself. We might not have a clear grasp of the contents, but the presence is undeniable. The task for life is clarifying what conviction requires of us in the broad sense, as well as specific application. At some point, regardless of consequences, you’ll find there is some internal demand from which you cannot walk away; you simply have to do what you have to do. Your best hope is having some idea what your convictions demand.

Flu Shots: Back Door Compulsion

The noise about health care reform is not based entirely on imagination. We do have a very large portion of the US population receiving medical treatment under a wide array of state-funded health care programs. We can discuss all day long how government intrusion, both in regulating and in funding, have helped jack up the prices so there’s no real choice, but that is not the worst of it. With the helping hand comes the mailed fist of compulsion.

Recently, I have heard several young women receiving care under various county- and state-funded programs have been told they will be required to take the flu shot because they are pregnant. This comes to me third hand, so it’s possible this is mere gossip. However, it is wholly consistent with what I would have expected. The implication is they will accept the vaccine or they will be kicked out of the program.

I’ve already stated the complexity of this thing requires we tread carefully in how we talk about it. On the one hand, it’s accurate enough to say “They” want to kill a huge segment of the US population, and are willing to use a lot of sneaky methods to get it done. That hardly gives us a clear picture of how it comes about. The global elite are They who would see the world’s population reduced to some 500K. This number has been cited in too many places, written by too many different hands, to be merely hyperbole — lots of big thinkers, leaders, professors and scholars, folks holding government powers in many countries. How they get others to act on this vision is what complicates it.

We assert they control the process, and our elections in the US are proof. We can find all the evidence we need to show the process is manipulated and controlled, nothing fair and honest about it. We can easily demonstrate They own and control the entire mainstream media output. We can even show how They profit indirectly from Big Pharma, but that would be more complicated. What is equally complicated is how They have hi-jacked any number of regulated professions, and the powerful bias within medicine to exclude anything which does not enhance Their control. So we have this massive weight of official voices telling us we must get this vaccine, spicing up the story with vastly overblown tales of how the “When Pigs Fly” flu is destroying humanity. It hardly compares to regular seasonal flu in severity of symptoms and resulting complications. Of course, if you get all your information from the MSM, you’d never know it was bogus.

So it seems They are willing to employ a wide range of methods until they get the desired result. If the back-channel Internet news system effectively counters the MSM, they are willing to pull strings and force the issue in small ways, at first. States, like New York, which traditionally act like Soviet bureaucrats, can produce a mandate all licensed health care workers get the shot. Other places like Oklahoma, where ordinary people still drive around with a gun rack mounted on the back window of the pickup cab, it comes more stealthily, via the hand of government funding. If you receive any form of assistance, directly or indirectly, that support system comes with strings attached. You will do as you are told, or you will be bumped from the system. What may not be obvious is every medical facility in the entire state receives such funding. It comes with the license to operate, so to speak.

And if that is not enough, other harsher methods are waiting. So starting with the group of vulnerable young women bearing children, and their already born children, we are likely to see mandatory vaccinations. That the vaccine is frankly dangerous is no longer in question, if you’ve been paying any attention at all. In that injection is stuff which has been shown to cause Gulf War Syndrome, various autoimmune disorders, sterility, and a very long list of other effects. On top of that, we have good reason to believe a great many of these injections will include the dreaded RFID They would love to force on all humanity (except themselves, of course).

I’m waiting on confirmation of the local story details, but I confess I am not only inclined to believe it, but predicted it some months ago.

Keeping My Word

We are doomed. I will sometimes venture an educated guess, but by no means can I claim to know how that doom will manifest, nor even how it will telegraph itself. Part of the problem is we have too many things going wrong at the same time. The economy is already lost, but most people in the US simply don’t realize it yet. When they do, expect some panic. We have those threats of forcing folks to take the “When Pigs Fly” flu vaccine, along with a host of other tyrannies likely to signal civil war. We have threats of expanding our warfare in the Middle East to Iran, and the need for too many more troops without instituting a draft. The IRS has already promised to put us in jail if we don’t buy Obama-approved health insurance. Various attempts at mass gun confiscations are in the works. The broad “community” of law enforcement people are ready to stomp anyone insufficiently obsequious in the face of even the most outrageous crushing assaults on human rights and liberty. Lots of things are going in the wrong direction.

Unlike so very many who like to trumpet these things on their websites, I’m not trying to make a buck from it. Nor do I somehow conveniently forget when I propose a likely date for certain kinds of bad stuff. I truly believed the end of last month would find us in a final crushing loss of value for the dollar. I wasn’t sure what the mechanism would be, though I suspected it would be the result of foreign banks demanding ours come clean. American banks are currently hiding the fact a major portion of all mortgages are dead, or “non-performing” as they call it, because acting to foreclose would force them to account for the true value of their losses, making each admit to being insolvent. It would close them all down. Those who know more than I have investigated and shown evidence vast swathes of mortgages in the US are not properly accounted for on balance sheets anywhere. Some of these were the same folks who honestly expected it all to crash by the end of September.

They aren’t saying anything about it right now. Given how it all works, it’s quite possible the foreign banks have already played their hand. We are unlikely to know, since this is the stuff of secret banking communications. Given the massive number of dollars involved — hundreds of trillions perhaps — it might take a few days for the ripples to become visible. I suppose if we have a sudden spike in bank closures, that would be a signal we can use to deduce it has happened. Or maybe something else equally dire, but simply kept from our view. But I believed these experts, and tried to put their reports in easier terms to understand. For the time being, I still believe them, but if by mid-month no evidence of their predictions appear, I’m going to dismiss them from my reading.

But I haven’t forgotten I repeated their reports, thus endorsing them. If it turns out wrong, it shows my judgment of such things is pretty bad. If I can’t do any better, I need to stop writing on such subjects. Given that’s a major feature of my posts here, I’ve promised to shut this blog down. Since some of my posts are about other things, to which other sites have linked, I’ll leave it running, but I’ll stop posting — I’ll shut up. I’ll make one last post eating crow. Then, perhaps after a hiatus, I’ll restart, but stick with stuff I actually know about.

Tech Hardware: Nvidia Dumps on Users Again

Over the past decade or so, fast 3D gamer display on your computer boils down to choosing either nVidia or ATI. Frankly, nVidia has had the edge most of that time. Competition has been pretty fierce, though, and now it seems nVidia is taking themselves too seriously. Slashdot reports a new “feature” of nVidia drivers, in which they refuse to work properly if it detects the presence of any other GPU on the system.

These days, it’s common for gamers and other hardware junkies to run multiple displays through multiple video cards, depending on different needs. For some time, it’s been possible to run nVidia for games, say, and maybe a Matrox for fonts. But with this new update, nVidia disables certain advanced hardware features if it finds the presence of any other brand of graphics processor.

This is just one more reason for Linux and BSD users to avoid nVidia. Some time ago, both ATI and nVidia required using their special software for us to get 3D acceleration. Then ATI gave up and released enough information and drivers to make it work without any extra steps. nVidia has continued forcing everyone to use their funky driver, all sealed to prevent anyone knowing what it does. Meanwhile, for quite some time, you could get as much 3D as Intel chips could offer, along with S3, Via, 3DFX (Voodoo), and everybody else. They were all quite willing to open up their hardware design so drivers could be written without guesswork. No, the other guys don’t compete that well ATI and nVidia for gaming, but otherwise you might never know the difference on Linux/BSD.

Let me add my voice to those advising this is yet one more reason to boycott nVidia hardware. When we matter to them, they’ll matter to us.

Refuse to Cooperate and Tyranny Dies

From ancient times, philosophers have noted something which still seems to startle folks who didn’t think of it: If you don’t cooperate with the government, it’s no longer the government. While we recognize the power of the sword, that power is not absolute. There comes a point when the task of execution is too large for the resources. Enforcement won’t happen when some significant portion of the governed refuse to recognize their government. So any government which rests on the sword is always ripe for toppling. Any government which rests on love and respect is stronger than the sum of it’s resources.

Knowing these things philosophically is nice, but it really helps to see concrete examples. My friend Robin points out just such an example in the Polish Solidarity revolt, which got the momentum rolling for the collapse of the Soviet Empire. The method was so simple, yet so profound:

I learned during my 1986 visit that five years after the regime’s harsh crackdown, Poles were dodging and weaving around the Jaruzelski regime in ways that almost defied imagination. Shortages of basic foodstuffs, double-digit inflation, and a powerful secret police did not deter them from creating thriving black markets and flourishing private institutions, from radio to theaters to publishing houses and schools. Solidarity’s Wiktor Kulerski had sketched the outlines of Polish resistance a few years before when he wrote, “This movement should create a situation in which authorities will control empty stores, but not the market; the employment of workers, but not their livelihood; the official media, but not the circulation of information; printing plants, but not the publishing movement; the mail and telephones, but not communications; and the school system, but not education.”

Some of this is reflected in my Biblical Rebellion series. The fundamental lesson is an illegitimate government should be treated as illegitimate. You may have no practical means to actively fight back, and the New Testament warns it’s pointless in the first place. Rather, simply live as God intended and He’ll support it according to His own plans. His plans are generally supportive, while specifics of timing and particular movements of history may leave us unable to see it in our specific situations. That’s the somewhat mystical viewpoint of Scripture itself, which does not wait for evidence of the rational sort to back up an eternal declaration from God. When things have gone wrong for such a very long time, as they have here in the U.S., turning to righteousness is at first a desperate act of revolution. We see with spiritual eyes the goal is not for our immediate existence. Rather, we immerse ourselves in something far bigger than ourselves.

Yet, we also find reliable reports God does support these kinds of revolts. You may not see your children walk in proper liberty, nor necessarily they their own children. At the same time, God responds almost immediately in small ways if you look for them. He always grants enough to match the needs of your faith.

Today is the day. When any political force promotes evil, you don’t really have to attack. Just refuse to cooperate; do what you know you must to have peace in your own conscience. It surely helps if you have taken the time to examine your convictions, so you have a good idea what it is you must do to have peace. Now is a good time to start.

The Dangers of Orthodoxy

We have this fancy word — “orthodoxy” — which means a generally approved teaching, and implies a generally approved thinking. It assumes an authority among men which promotes and defends correct teaching and thinking. The claim also includes the assertion such “right thinking” cannot be questioned. The question for you and I is not whether to embrace any orthodoxy, but the approach we use to question it. The means of enforcing adherence to any orthodoxy is all we need to know.

Let’s back up just a moment and refresh what lies behind my approach. Truth is a Person — God Almighty. It is utterly false and misleading to envision truth as some disembodied thing detached from God’s person. It remains utterly dependent on Him. A thing is true only insofar as it reflects His revelation, and His revelation of Himself is as much as we can know about ultimate reality. Human intellect cannot fathom truth, only abstract certain material observations. Ultimate truth is perceived, not in the intellect, but in the spirit. Both the matter and faculty of Ultimate Truth is outside the intellect, and can only be a matter of spirit, though the intellect can be harnessed to serve the spirit. We might discuss academically the existence and content of an orthodoxy, a word implying Truth, but we cannot hope to nail it down concretely. It’s not an abstract thing, but a matter of living loyalty. Humans rightly evaluate declarations on orthodoxy in their spirits, as a matter of internal conviction. They discern that along with any implied compliance with orders from a human authority, but rational logic alone is insufficient for the task.

So obviously I take most orthodoxies as self-important puffery. Equally obvious is my recommendation you take the same approach. For example, the official orthodoxy regarding AIDS. From the very first, it smelled rotten to me. There were serious questions, but the questioners were hushed, marginalized, and persecuted. There was nothing remotely honest nor honorable about the parties pressing the orthodoxy. It was downright oppressive, and this was the primary evidence it was all a big lie. So now comes this marvelous exposé. If you can’t get the film, there’s this excellent review. In essence, the whole thing was a hoax designed to keep the CDC from being shut down. Since they can’t get the facts straight, it’s only natural they create a huge lie, with a harshly enforced orthodoxy, and which happens to harness itself to another evil orthodoxy for support. So naturally the MSM refuses to note any question without painting it as somehow evil. It’s rather like Satan castigating someone for lying.

The basic ANE approach — the biblical approach — is to tolerate such idiocy when it doesn’t get in the way. At some point, it becomes necessary to point out the lies. You and I both know the sheeple are unlikely to accept our message, but that’s not our problem. It’s God’s problem, and He can handle it just fine. In this case, the underlying issue is the US government, and most other human governments in the world today, have demonstrated an utter lack of interest in real science and medicine. Noting such things as vitamins and herbs will do more to help you fight the flu than any vaccine is a threat to government power. Mainstream medicine is primarily the result of doctors who are simply union thugs in disguise, and the AMA is merely a commercial monopoly interest. They are the loudest and most threatening voices on the stage, so real physicians are intimidated into silence, when they aren’t so utterly fooled they don’t know the difference. Nurses, if anything, tend to be worse.

You are on your own. Does that scare you? Does that make you feel impotent against the vast horde of information out there, which you face with insufficient means to sort through it all? Sorry, but reality sucks. It’s not as if you can’t work to form a community of balanced expertise in the various specialties, but you can’t afford to simply walk into any doctor’s office and expect those certificates on the wall to really mean much. Instead of settling the issue for human safety, the medical system has long ago become what it claims to replace, so that medical orthodoxy is often a bigger danger than the so-called quacks. This is true of almost every regulated activity. We have come to the place when precious few government agencies can be trusted for anything at all. If there’s any chance the profit motive can touch any part of the process, it will be corrupted without fail.

In this world today, orthodoxy of any kind should be the first indicator something shady is at work.

Torture: Not Just Demons

Hopefully I made clear the number one issue with torture is it invites demons into the process. We have enough of them running free in US government already, thank you. However, it does not require believing in demons to see how foolish torture is on a purely human level. I’ll be citing my own years of study in psychology, so there won’t be any links. Those who know will recognize the truth.

HuffPo isn’t my favorite source for much of anything, but facts are facts. What we have here is the lucid statements of a federal judge, not some whining activist. In the case of one Guantánamo prisoner, it becomes all too clear the US government had no intention of finding truth. The issue of sleep deprivation, for example, is sheer meanness. It is well established using this will get you a subject who suffers delusions, because their brain is unable to differentiate between reality, clear memory, and fictional contents. The barriers of definition are broken down, and the sense of personal identity fades to insignificance. A sleep deprived subject is living inside their own nightmares, where anything at all is possible, except reality itself. Since I know that, there is no reason to think the information was not available to the torturers at Guantánamo. The interrogators didn’t want information, they wanted a pile of documented manure to excuse evil intentions elsewhere.

There is nothing in here about any possibility of honest intent. No human walking on this earth is capable of dissecting the garbage coming out of sleep deprivation unless they already know enough they don’t need to interrogate in the first place. What we are left with is sheer demonic hateful abuse. If we have to use torture to win, we deserve to lose, because we have already lost. If we pay men and women to conduct such hideous operations, we are doomed already. The “enemy” holds the moral high ground.

Americans, we are supporting the greatest evil stalking this earth.

Hardin, MT: Black Ops Takeover? (Updated)

A little town out near Billings, MT. They were railroaded into approving a huge private prison complex, but they never got any contracts. So somebody made of with lots of loot on a municipal bond issue and the city is on the verge of defaulting. Then along comes a rescue. But the rescue is shrouded in secrecy, and the rescuer is all too willing to break the law. This thing is morphing faster than any of us in Internet Land can follow.

The basic story: American Police Force is anything but American, it appears. Someone calling herself a teenage resident says the apparent head of the group speaks poor English with a strong Slavic accent. They refuse to operate in the clear, and the city cabal with them is at least as bad.

More on the story. Lots of sweetheart deals to keep the city cabal supporting the move, and to keep the citizens quiet. Check the comments section for some interesting additions.

Recent MSM report: The APF was patrolling the city for awhile with vehicles marked as police patrol cars. Someone in city government seems to have been suspended for authorizing that. Meanwhile, the comments reflect rising tensions.

I can’t pretend to know just how sinister this really is. The prison itself was a big mistake for the city. Not only were they in a bind, but it made them vulnerable. The entire prison industry in the US is the other half of the War on Drugs, two sides of a deal which never had anything to do with the very real threat of substance abuse, but with making billions by milking the fears of taxpayers. Hardin was suckered into that mess, and now Satan has a castle on their lawn, so to speak. When some black ops arms dealer comes along with sweet promises, they jump on it. I’m sure the townfolk are at least somewhat divided over this whole mess. Obviously neither they, nor we as outsiders watching, can see the whole picture.

APF has already proved themselves lawless. They are at least as dangerous to citizens and rights as Xe (AKA Blackwater), reflecting the elitist Brownshirt mentality. That sort of folks are why Nazi Germany was not the first, nor the last horrific swamp of human evil to foul the face of the earth. Call it a Godwin if you like, but history is loaded with other, less famous examples. Mr. Prince and his ilk are more like the movie depictions of the Antichrist — people who take advantage of spiritual ignorance, a complete misunderstanding of Christ and His mission, and convince folks Satan’s plans are God’s.

By no means should we speculate this is somehow a symbolic anchor point for martial law. We are already part way under martial law, as it has been slowly drifting across the sky for some decades. If this APF fiasco were happening in other places I’ve lived, there would have already been bloodshed. At the very least, some enterprising patriot types would have been sniping the thugs, and perhaps the cabal in Hardin’s municipal government, too. If somewhere along this insane path, someone from APF gets trigger happy, we’ll know just how awful it can be. The real story is just how likely it is your municipal government, or mine, will sell us out for their own personal benefit. People who want power over others cannot ever be called good or decent, and God forbid we ever get stupid enough to call them honest.

Satan is roaming to and fro, seeking whom he may devour. He is a toothless old lion, roaring to scare folks into laying down so he can simply swallow them whole.

Update (01 October 2009): It appears the whole thing will collapse on the identity of the man running APF, Michael Hilton. He has a large number of aliases, along with a very long criminal and civil record of frauds of all kinds. Since he has yet to satisfy some $1 million dollars in judgments against him, we can assume this whole thing will go nowhere unless he finds or has found a really big sugar daddy somewhere. Authoritative details here.
