Righteous Survival in a Global Meltdown

Ambitious title for my post, no?

So we had late yesterday (US time) the dreaded Wikileaks release of secret embassy traffic. I reiterate what I’ve said in the past: Notice who wasn’t embarrassed by this stuff. The major player in all this who remains undamaged, in their own eyes, is Israel. The age old question — Cui bono? — is Occam’s Razor in this context. For those of you with a poor education, cui bono is Latin for “who benefits” and Occam’s Razor is the rule of logic which says the simplest explanation is probably the correct one. Given how the US government treats its own citizens, is anyone surprised by how she treats officials who are outside that government? Collectively, the US government suffers paranoid schizophrenia, stratospheric arrogance, and visceral contemptuous hatred for everyone else. That’s how the governing classes treat each other; it’s no surprise they treat us even worse.

So we still have Israel planning to start a war with Iran and Lebanon, and hoping to provoke just about everyone else in the world. Russia is not government by corporations as in the US, but by the Russian Mafia. Saudis blindly fund pet American black ops projects such as the false enemy called “al-Qaeda”. Is anyone really surprised? On the one hand, it’s nice to see official government documentation for the evil the underground has been warning about all along. On the other hand, this whole thing is laughable for what it slips in as pure and unadulterated lies. The best way to keep your secrets is to bury it in garbage. No sane person wants to dig through tons of raw sewage to find a tiny handful of gems. Those on the inside at both ends — those who matter — already have filters in place.

Let’s say it one more time: US government at all levels, down to your neighborhood council, remain evil in one way or another. People who govern intend to hurt you for their own benefit. That is the nature of government in the US. Everything contrary to that truth is hogwash. If you don’t understand that, just try to run your daily affairs according to Scripture and you will, at the very least, hear something you do is illegal. That’s just at the level of the Law Covenants. If you gravitate toward a higher code of spiritual sanity, you will find it extremely difficult to evade conflict with government agents. But by the definition established in God’s Laws, all Western governments are illegitimate. You cannot pursue sanity without conflict with government agencies in the US.

As already noted, government people don’t trust each other very much, so there are noteworthy conflicts among the various agencies, not simply on the same level, but across all levels. The sort of psychosis which makes you aspire to government office makes you dangerous to everyone, including your fellow rulers. But they will certainly band together against those they govern, particularly when threatened. That “threat” means even the slightest incursion into their areas of authority, particularly if you cause them any inconvenience in ruling. So while we see a certain amount of embarrassment among the noisiest government officials about some of the Wikileaks revelations, there is no genuine shame, because they were simply doing their jobs, right? The difference between an ostensibly democratic regime (rule by the people) and an autocratic tyranny is the former carries a pretense of accountability, but only a pretense.

So we have, against all protest, TSA continuing blatant sin against travelers, and expectations of extending their reach into forms of transportation other than flying. At the same time, we correctly sense the threat conditions will collude to put private transportation increasingly out of reach — oil prices soaring, economic depression impoverishing a broader slice of the population, regulation increasing, etc. We have a high probability of military adventures in even more places around the world. Meanwhile, war cannot help our national economy because we have almost no native manufacturing aside from war materials. Banks have been bailed out from their rapacious lending practices by raping yet again the same folks through taxes. Sure, the banks have been bailed out by deficit spending, but we borrow that money indirectly from the same doggone banking system we are propping up. In other words, the circular flow of money skips by us poor taxpayers completely. What little productivity we have left is already mortgaged for the next century or two — that is, if we stop the government borrowing totally right now. Otherwise, the catch-up date is beyond the horizon.

If you have read this far, I’m assuming you are interested in what would constitute a sane response. Let me first remind you I define “sanity” as Christian Mysticism. In this context, the pertinent issue is treating this level of existence as a prison, and seeking to embrace the higher level of existence in the Spirit Realm. Human pain and suffering aren’t good things, but we hold the entire mess in contempt among the spiritually sane. We have endless compassion on those around us who don’t quite get that. We can afford to extend a considerable amount of sacrifice to ease human suffering because the sacrifice is the whole point in revealing God’s way of doing business. People matter far more than anything else on this earth.

The answer then becomes one of addressing the context. In the context of what we see right now, I would suggest you spend half of your waking attention on thinking through the commitments of Christian Mysticism. The other half builds upon that: Prepare to face a deepening economic depression paired with increasing difficulty differentiating government from well organized criminals. Whatever resources you posses, invest in preparations to help others. Simply consider whatever it is you are good at doing, regardless whether it makes you much money right now. The first things which come to mind are provisions of the basics of life: food, clothing and shelter. That is, find ways you know how to contribute to the process of producing those things, and develop your talents and skills.

I’m going to provide myself as an example, since I know me better than I know anyone else. I’m not really much good at gardening itself, but I’m pretty good at ground preparation. So this past summer I really tore into our garden plot, breaking up the clay soil and enriching it. For clothing, I’m just so-so at repairing fabrics, though I understand better than I can actually do. I’m a little more skillful at heavier materials, such as shoes. I haven’t tried it yet, but I have studied how to use some recycled materials to make footwear of various types. Having spent time in various climates from the Arctic to the Equator in the Americas, and parts of Europe, I am painfully aware of what kind of clothing works best in different situations. Recently I spent some time renovating my brother’s roof. I probably could help someone else build a house, but I can do some repairs myself. I have invested in hand tools, and could work without power tools if necessary. In this case, it’s mostly an instinct God gave me for what works, rather like an intuitive grasp of the limits of physical materials.

Then we have to think about trade and transportation. Rare indeed is the individual who can live utterly alone and do all the things necessary for life. In this modern world, such splendid isolation is pretty hard to achieve, anyway. Given my previous statement people are the single greatest resource, you cannot hope to be sane if you don’t know how to negotiate and deal with other people. You don’t have to be particularly talented at it; you simply have to care. People can tell if you care. You have to be able to exchange your abilities and products for theirs, and make them feel good about it. And given my blanket dismissal of government legitimacy, I have no trouble with smuggling anything not harmful to humans. By no means would I want to limit folks trading in goods by which people kill themselves, but sane people aren’t going to sell cigarettes if they don’t smoke. Go ahead and sell your raw milk products if you feel certain you would consume them yourselves. If you are good at making deals or managing transportation at some level, you can contribute to a sane world.

Naturally, the arts are always critical. But putting a price tag on them is next to impossible, and tends to defeat the purpose in the arts. If you can wrangle survival doing your art, stay with it. Life is better with artistic expression. Information I’ve discussed at length on this blog, and is an art form itself, so the same rules apply. It’s all communication, and life is impossible without it. My faith permits no restrictions on communication except what is inherent in God’s justice itself. That means Western notions of copyright are mostly wrong. God is not impressed with notions of Intellectual Property.

In the long run, you should always plan to implement your own safe and sane social structure. The biggest threat to government is people who don’t need it. All the government you need, according to Scripture, can be obtained in the tribal social structure. Democracy in all it’s forms is a lie, because it asserts man is not fallen. In a proper Scriptural household structure, a loving elder always listens to his family and considers their wishes, but is saddled with understanding their needs may demand things they don’t want. Paternalism is God’s way; there is no room for discussion. For all its failures, life on this planet cannot be any better than under tribal government. Given our situation now, genuine DNA-based extended family households may be impossible. The Christian Mysticism way is recreating one from whatever disparate sources through a spiritual replacement of DNA. The early churches were just that — a spiritual clan which operated as a single extended family household.

Whether mass destruction comes quickly, slowly, or not at all in your perception, it won’t make any difference. These are the things God has said we must do to embrace sanity as He defines it. In other words: Thus saith the Lord.

Our Injustice in Korea

So we are stirring up trouble again, this time in Korea. Our US government is jonesing for a new war to create a new public fear whip and keep us in line.

Take a look at the maps. That little island shelled by the North Koreans is way, way north of the line of demarcation (DMZ). It’s right on top of North Korea’s coast. I don’t have to know the history to tell you having South Korean troops that close to the northern coast is pushing things already. How smart can it be if you are close enough to be hit by ordinary artillery fire? Cannons can only fire just so far (I’ve served in the US Army Field Artillery, intimately acquainted with artillery range of fire). So the situation is already unjust. Then to provoke things as the South loves to do…

God will not bless our involvement there. We might do just fine in battle. I understand the South did more damage than the North did in this last round. But this is a setup for invasion from the South, fishing for an excuse. I wonder how the Chinese will view that? Wonder how they will react to our backing in this provocation? We are more vulnerable in other ways than they are militarily.

I can’t say, “God help us.” He won’t allow me to cry out on behalf of our criminal nation. We tolerate a criminal government, so we are in on this. What I can say is, “God have mercy on your peaceful saints who refuse to support this evil.”

Jesus Cracked a Whip

If you’ve read the Gospels in the New Testament, you are aware of the narrative where Jesus drove the currency scalpers out of the Court of Gentiles.

The story goes Jesus bundled some cords together and used it like a whip. He overturned the coin exchange tables, along with a few other stalls run by the Bazaars of the Sons of Annas. This was a scandalous business licensed by the High Priest, Annas. His boys would pay a high franchise fee, but would then be protected from competition. Folks coming from outside the country would carry differing currencies and pay well above the official exchange rate because the Temple Tax could be paid only in the Judean shekel. The official reason was the sort of images stamped into the coins; human faces were considered pagan and defiling.

Another wicked practice was selling animals which were “pre-inspected” and already acceptable as offerings in the Temple. The price was considerably higher than animals bought in any other market place. Nobody in their right mind would try to transport their own live animal offerings, since the priestly inspection process was rigged to reject most animals on the various flimsy pretexts.

Worse, all of this was conducted in the Court of Gentiles. This meant Gentiles unwilling to go through circumcision and all the other rituals of conversion to Judaism had no place in the Temple grounds to gather during the high festivals. Jesus cried out as He tore the place apart how wrong it was to block this court, since God’s Temple was to be a house of prayer for all nations, not just Jews.

Along with this was the understanding not obvious to us today: This “cleansing of the Temple” was itself a common prophetic act. It was a symbolic ritual. So the Temple guards and priests on hand asked Jesus what message He proclaimed, so they could decide whether to arrest Him for interfering with the licensed businesses.

Are we to suppose Jesus didn’t actually hit anyone? On the one hand, the best guess we have regarding His whip of cords actually didn’t amount to much of a physical threat. Apparently it was braided, so it could sting if He struck exposed skin, but serious injury was unlikely. But it was violent nonetheless. It was also the single example of Jesus getting violent.

We can’t possibly know, arguing from silence, whether He ever got violent on any other occasion. The Apostle John notes it was not possible, and implies it was inadvisable, to record everything Jesus said and did during His ministry. Given what we do have recorded of His words and deeds, it’s safe to say He was mostly against violence, particularly with such teachings as “turn the other cheek.” We can reasonably deduce He made rare exceptions, such as His zeal for the purpose of God’s Temple. There are some things which cannot be done any other way. This is what I have taught since before starting this blog.

Oddly, I find myself over the years stumbling close to the Mennonite position on most things. That is, I had no intention of being like any particular group, but followed best I could the leading of the Holy Spirit. I realize I teach a lot of things Mennonites don’t teach, and the foregoing discussion shows I can’t quite accept a total ban on violence. At the same time, I do teach violence is wrong in almost every context I’ve experienced. Defending your children from oppressive government, and particularly any so-called Child Protective Services is an example of when I say violence may be godly. Of course, it’s better if you can with godly wisdom discern when they are likely to come after your kids and simply not be there to victimize. I also teach it’s okay to resist sexual assault with violence. But in every case, you, and you alone, can decide what God wants from you in the moment, and sometimes non-resistance may be His desire even in those cases.

I certainly teach you should never serve in the military nor police, since those are today completely given over to state-sponsored violent oppression. Indeed, you should avoid all government service. I don’t care much for formalized theology, but prefer to emphasize biblical theology and obedience to Christ in conduct. I certainly recognize two domains and often post here about how things ought to be handled in the lower, worldly domain. On the other hand, I teach a strong element of ancient Hebraic mysticism. Still, for those who would like to have a handy label for what I believe, I suspect I’m closer to Mennonites than anything else.

Backup Static Site Hosting (Updated)

Tonight my static website (soulkiln.org) is unavailable. This is the first time this has happened, as far as I know, in several years since starting that site. I have no complaints whatsoever against the fellow who provides the hosting of this site. However, he isn’t God and sometimes I need a backup.

I can’t afford much, and free is better. I’ve surveyed the free stuff, but I’m not savvy on who is hiding unpleasant facts on their all-happy all-the-time gateway pages. I don’t want some highly scripted or templated mess, especially those with tight limitations. All I really need is a place to park a backup of my hand-coded, simple XHTML pages. I don’t do ads and precious few images, mostly text and CSS. I’m a real tightwad on space, currently less than 10MB for the whole thing. I would like to have one email address to go with it, and the inbox will be emptied often.

If any of my fine readers know of a free or very cheap place I can park a backup of my site, I’d love to hear about it.

Update: I now have a mirror for my site here.

Repent While There’s Time

God has called me to prophesy. Nothing I write or say as prophecy will diverge from anything written in the Bible, provided you can read it with the same frame of mind as those who wrote it.

The great legacy of biblical prophecy points out repeatedly: When nations flout His Laws, they eventually will face His wrath. It’s no different when several nations together under one civilization ignore His Laws. Thus, today I tell you the entire range of Western Civilization is under God’s wrath.

God does not suffer from our minuscule attention span, so these things happen slowly. On other blogs elsewhere, now long gone, and here as well, I have detailed the many examples of how we poke God in the eye every chance we get. I’m not going to review the catalog of our sins here. Rather, I’m calling for all people living within or, under the influence of, Western Civilization to repent while there’s time. Not that we can save the nations from His wrath, but perhaps He will offer you some individual mercy to you while the world comes crashing down around you.

Where to start? Try this.

Giving Thanks and Repentance

We call this Thanksgiving Day. It’s mostly a muddle of American mythology to cover up some truly awful things done by our founders.

As with many born in Oklahoma, I have some Native American DNA. A great many tribes which survived their encounters with European settlers were driven to this place before those settlers realized parts of Oklahoma were pretty livable. They drove the Indians here because they thought it was a useless wasteland. When they found it otherwise, they turned around and stole it back, flagrantly violating all the treaties.

I don’t pretend to make grand claims to Native American heritage because I don’t engage the tribes in any way. I respect them as being the original Americans, and I do advocate for fair treatment. For the most part, they are willing to note our atrocious abuse of them, but let it pass and simply work on what we can do today. For my part, I sorrow yet over the lies, destruction and murder my other ancestors dished out.

As a prophet of God, the one thing I am truly called to address here is the awful heresies which gave rise to such evil. As the linked article at SOTT notes, we had two basic groups: dissenters who were Separatists from the Church of England, and dissenters who wanted to reform and purify (“Puritans”) that church. They did indeed flee persecution, but fled first to the Netherlands. The Dutch would not allow them to home-school, and Dutch education has long been relentlessly and hatefully secular. I’ve lived in the Netherlands and learned to speak Dutch. They can be decent, and I’d love to see the place again. What I don’t at all miss is their culture and the hedonistic Dutch way of life. It was no fun for the dissenters from England, so they made a deal with some part of the English bureaucracy to get a royal charter to settle in the New World.

The deal was pretty rough, because they had no leverage, only some wealth. They were to settle the new lands and had a short time to begin sending back goods and raw materials from which the contractors who got them the charter could make a profit. The deal called for communism, in effect. They all ate from the common store of supplies, and everyone was supposed to do something to repay this investment. It didn’t work. Without some help from the natives and truly good fortune, they would have all died like the Jamestown colony. They dropped the communism and went libertarian, every man for himself. It worked and many survived. They gave thanks to God.

But their methods indicate God was not so active as simply tolerant of them, much as He was tolerant with Israel when that ancient nation strayed continually. It was the same basic path of straying, in that the English settlers were utterly contemptuous of the natives and just about everyone else who wasn’t one of them.

Their theology made them the Chosen of their day, the ones who alone truly understood what God wanted on this earth. That in itself isn’t so bad, since it requires a rather strong confidence in what you believe or you won’t act. But they paid mere lip service to the concept of humility. They put on the show of humility before God, but were hostile to every one on earth who didn’t agree with them. Because God had meant for them to prosper above the sinners, the legal system in England was just horrible, because their middle class materialism wasn’t allowed to run free. The land in England was all owned by various nobles, as was the permit for every sort of business. These dissenters were okay with Dutch materialism, they just wanted a particular brand of religion stamped on the outside cover. But the harsh privilege of the English nobility was evil, so they had to leave, since God obviously planned bad things for their homeland.

In their New World, they expected to pay off their debt by their holy industry. But that meant taking control of land from a native culture which believed only their deity (or deities) could own land. The natives were mostly willing to accommodate others who shared the resources, but the European focus of land ownership was utterly incompatible with native lifestyle. The result was the acquisitive settlers were pretty rough with their hosts. The settlers were convinced their God owned the land and wanted them to have it, and the natives were heathens worthy of dispossession, and death if necessary. The settlers simply confiscated native food stores, robbed graves, etc. Their hosts were amazingly restrained in response, but this only encouraged the rapacious behavior of the settlers.

Yes, I believe the natives were pagan sinners. So were the settlers, because their brand of Christianity was a long way from the Bible. While I give thanks for God’s blessings in harvest, and in want, I repent every day for sins by which my hands have been dirtied. I have inherited a very grand legacy of sins from my forefathers on both sides.

No Oracle, Just Observation

While I claim God has called me to prophesy, it doesn’t require mystical prophetic insight to understand what we face here in the West. Our civilization is rotting from within. The energy and moral fiber which allows civilizations to rise and build are now gone. Could we simply hold onto things worth preserving, we would at least remain stable. This will not happen, because we are long past the point of no return.

People seem to know this instinctively, and many comment on it publicly. But what steers our conscious collective mood is embracing the fear which is justified, but we do so to excess. We have long yielded to the movie and fictional story mindset of things happening very quickly. Large events which change life as we know it do not happen overnight. There will surely be catastrophes, and points of major shift, but the results will not be a whole new world and a fresh start. Yet, if you read the popular discussions on the Net, most often you see a mixture of dark or bright visions, but always something right around the corner changing everything at once.

It won’t happen like that.

It could, given the vast number of things which are near the breaking point — international conflicts, economic fumbling, social oppression — but even those things will not bring a clear break from the past. You and I are not in the driver’s seat, so to speak, so none of us can play at Adam and Even in new Garden of Eden. Not a literal garden, anyway. What we will see here on the ground will be almost boring, and we are ill equipped to handle that.

For example, Vox Day notes repeatedly: We are in a deflationary spiral, not inflation. All the hype in both the mainstream and alternative press about the vast quantity of dollars being pumped back into the economy is not the controlling factor. It’s futile. The money all goes back into the banking system to replace an even larger quantity of dollars frittered away on what amounts to gambling and fraud. The banks are insolvent in reality, but the fiction demanded by government and TPTB allows them to continue operating. Yet for all the pumping, the quantity of dollars available on the street is declining, and that’s what matters.

Again, there will be a breaking point, in that the dollar pump is based on debt which is completely out of control. But that breaking point will be far too subtle for most people to notice, because what breaks is what few people expect.

The same goes with various scenarios of blood in the streets. We’ll see that, but it won’t be a sudden increase across the board overnight. It will be slow, and will become humdrum and business-as-usual in our minds. That is, unless the mind is paying attention to something besides a vast lore of fake reality from games, movies, and popular websites. That’s what makes things seem so slow by comparison. We are too deeply conditioned on the one or two hour time block for major, world-changing events. There will be no super heroes, no brilliant moves made by lone figures who just happen to be in the right place and time.

If you don’t make a conscious effort to distance yourself from those fictional inputs, you will always be captive to a lie within a lie. This world is already one big lie; it’s a prison and everything really important takes place outside this plane of existence. But even within our jail of the mind, we have created yet more confinements, more escapes. Fleeing dark shadows of reality, we have sought shadows of shadows. Pay attention to the facts of this prison before you try to understand what really matters, such as how to escape.

Trail and Shingle

This past couple of weeks I’ve been actually doing a day’s work most days.

I’ve been helping my brother with his roof. We stripped it all down and put down decking. We also changed the angle of parts of it by adding trusses. He decided to use a very wide flashing on everything. Since I had some experience with flashing, that was one of my jobs. No, not an expert, just more comfortable than he or his other helpers. (Did you know you can fold a sheet lengthwise using your feet and a couple of short two-by-four sections?) He opted for regular composition shingles, so it’s pretty time consuming. With another day or two of work, it will all be finished.

I’ve also been working on my trail again. This past summer it was completely inaccessible due to a very heavy infestation of deer ticks and chiggers. We finally had some cool weather this month which drove these suckers back into the soil for awhile, then a good hard freeze. This allowed me to get back out and clear away an entire summer’s growth. Make that a fairly wet summer for us, with very substantial regrowth of underbrush and tall grass. In several sections, I had grass as tall as me.

You would have thought there had never been a trail in some areas. I’ve been trying to get it cleared enough for the kin folks to use it during our annual Thanksgiving Day festivities. I’m going to have to cheat, though, and drag my lawn mower out to get parts of it cleared in time. The section I wanted to reroute will have to wait, and much of it will not be actually clean, but still passable.

False Loyalty

A false loyalty is not faking your loyalty, it’s being loyal to something which is fake, or unworthy. The current insanity of thinking I am somehow beholden to our ruling regime, regardless whether it actually represents the will of the majority, is simply a lie against God.

I cannot be loyal to the state when it demands I be disloyal to my God.

Lying to you and me is what our ruling regime does reflexively. Having held a security clearance and been exposed to some stuff you would not believe if I told you, it is my solemn duty before God to warn you most secrets are not about operational security. Most of them are simply one more way to gain illegitimate leverage over the population, when it is not simply an attempt to protect some bigshot from exposure.

For example, this business of backlash against TSA right now? You should expect a false flag operation very soon:

Is the TSA at that point of desperation yet? I’m not sure, but it would certainly be easy for high-level TSA operatives to find some patsy who hates the government, convince him that he should carry some liquid explosives onto an airplane, and then “catch” him at a TSA security checkpoint, thereby proving that we need to keep giving up our freedoms in the name of security.

The mainstream media would have a field day with that story, and for the next two weeks on the news, we’d all hear how important the TSA is and what a great job they’re doing, and how this “terrorist” was caught by the naked body scanner machine, and so on.

Don’t be surprised to see such a scenario unfold.

If there is any agency in a good place to justify their continued existence, it is the TSA. They are uniquely able to let a false-flag patsy by-pass security at one terminal and catch him at another.

This business about porno shots and groping isn’t simply a violation of our rights. It is a moral evil God has forbidden. Seeing and touching intimate areas of the body is a sin unless it’s your spouse or your own rather young children. Even doctors routinely do this unnecessarily, so I don’t give them a free pass. What people are conditioned to see has no bearing on the subject. It’s a sin against God’s Laws.

Vietnam by Another Name

We never left Vietnam, we just moved it around with us. The one war which proved so clearly the US military can utterly fail is now our trademark. Wherever TPTB choose to send our invading imperial troops, we turn it into Hell. We have no mission except to bring misery to people who don’t even know much about us.

But, oh — what they know about us!

In Vietnam, as in every other place, we have supported to most wicked and hateful regimes simply because we didn’t like the flavor of the competition. That’s because our own regime is so wicked. God’s justice will fall heavily upon us.
